Yesterday I was going through the threads which were tagged as "reported", "guideline violation", "duplicate" and so on.I found that there were some discussions regarding payment proof (the starter of the discussion says that he/she has been paid by so and so site recently) under the category of "celebrating milestones".So these kind of discussions are not allowed here, right? I am a member here for almost 1 year, but I was not aware of this fact.

As the Lamb and MysDianaIt have pointed out, posting merely to say "I have been paid ..." is 'celebrating a milestone' (so is posting just to wish people a Happy Christmas or a Happy New Year). The golden rule when starting a discussion is to ask yourself "What are people going to respond to this? Is it expecting quality and original responses?" There isn't a lot you can say in reply to a message such as "I got paid by xxx"!

Oh ok!Thanks mysdianait, lamb_lies_down and owlwings.I just thought that since it will help others to know that xxxx site is paying and not a scam, so there's no harm in doing that.

You can make a payment proof and place it in your profile. That will have the same effect and is not a violation

Thanks for the suggestion.Actually I was not at fault, but I saw many members got their posts deleted for this kind of discussions. In the future, I might have done the same mistake too. It's good that now I am aware of it.

There are new lines added to the Guidelines often and therefore it pays to check them out regularly. The last line states: "Don't Start discussions promoting a milestone, such as birthdays, anniversaries, reaching a certain myLot rating, etc. This is best celebrated via private messaging with your myLot friends." : http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx

Yes, I have read that, and after that I started this discussion. The examples given as milestones are very much different from posting payment proofs.

Hi titan, thanks for your discussion. Though I have read the rules, I didn't know posting payment proof is actually violating mylot rules. I always thought celebrating milestones is the milestone in mylot, such as "I have reached 200 posts". Also, I have seen many discussions regarding payment proof, and I thought it's a way to discuss the program itself. I will take note of that. Sometimes we may not interpret the guidelines correctly. Thanks again.

I won't write a specific post about a milestone.
