Hello my dear mylotters, we understand maintaining our good health are so determining and needs serious attention if we want to have a good and sound health always. Maintenance of this are so expensive. Some are very resourceful that they've found some other alternative medicine for their health maintenance.
We know of course synthetic medicines are rather more expensive than oriental or herbal medicines..which one do you believe are effective...?
Just curious to know...
Thanks.

I think that herbal medicines would be a better option for us but to be honest, I don't know a lot about them. I would love to be more educated about them though. I have heard that they can have some nasty side effects as well but I'm thinking they would be a lot less than synthetics.

Hello Jenin advance happy new year...yeah I think in your place herbal or any alternative medicine aside from using synthetic one are not use to take by your countrymen. It's because as what I know you're depending mostly on what medicine prescribe by your physicians. Besides, even us here, our doctors never prescribe alternative medicines because it's obvious big pharmaceutical companies would have no business to them anymore. They just don't know the adversities after taking synthetic tablets or medicines.
I just want to know from you my friend, are there any companies from other countries promoting herbal food supplement?
Thanks for responding my friend...

There are a few companines that are called health food stores that promote vitamins and alternative cures but I'm not sure they are from another country. There is a very interesting office that has opened up recently that promotes some alternative healing like acupuncture. I find it very interesting but at the same time I guess it's a little scary because it's not something I'm used to being around.

I think we have to balance it. For example if one has a high blood pressure the doctor will give you some tablets to lower it down. I don't see anything wrong if we can also take garlic capsule and vitamin e along with the medicine that the doctor prescribe to us. Ofcourse we must let the doctor know if we are taking any other natural supplements. I also believe in natural supplements because my dad was a diabetic and he was taking some herbal tablets and now he is cured. I prefer a balance of both if it is necessary and after that when I am well I will continue the natural supplements like herbs, vitamins and minerals.

Hi again,
Yes I have heard of DXN, and are you taking the supplements or the beverages? I have tried the their coffee few times. I advice you that before you take any herbal supplements you must search first because some can be toxic if used for a long time and also you must needed. For example I have a friend who cant take garlic tablet because it lowers her blood pressure. So whatever you taking make a research first its benefits and warning.

I wonder if we need to have any supplementary diet or medicine at all to stay healthy and sound. I feel that its rather expensive to have supplements than have vegetables and fruits unless one is not well or pregnant.

Hello metrobelle as what I see from your profile you're from India. Don't you know that lots of your countrymen has malnutrition problem? That's right food supplements are expensive than just eating vegetables and fruits, but does your people (all of them) can be supplied with vegetables and fruits? I am sure it is impossible. That's why lots of your countrymen has malnutrition problem. And this is where "Food Supplement" comes in. Supplement an alternative or an additional nutrients from what food we would be eating. Food supplement would not only for someone who has an illness already but an additional supplements to maintain our good health. Because HEALTH is WEALTH...
I hope i made myself understood about FOOD SUPPLEMENT...
Ohh by the way, if I am not mistaken, or for your information...lots of your countrymen are familiar with DXN..that's one of known food supplement in the world today...
Thanks...

thanks for your eye popping comment! Thought you were writing for supplementary diet, not about providing food to the millions of my countrymen who are malnouriched. It is of different topic as such. For your information, India is n agricultural country. So it is easy the other way round.

Synthetic medicines give immediate relief but also side effects. Whereas herbal medicines have no side effects and are also less expensive. Herbal medicines also include our grandma's tips which are purely home based and are very effective when taken regularly. I think it is time we went back to our olden days recipes and tips to maintain our health in good condition.
Happy mylotting.

Do you think you really need them, whether synthetic medicines or herbal medicines,or all you need is a insurence .I konw many aged people who live long and healthy lives.None of them have used these medicines. They say keep your soul healthy is more important than body.

I go with herbal! its less expensive and it has less or even no side effects at all. It's not guaranteed but its not a complete loss to try taking up the herbal one.. there is some herbal meds that makes you stay healthy and lets you eliminate wastes which is good to our body.. cleansing our colon prevents us from having colon cancer.. heard that some herbal meds offers that kind of effects.. oh well.. just saying that in my opinion when maintaining good health.. exercise and balance diet is the best way to a healthy living.. and go with herbal meds if possible :)

I would use natural and herbal medicine before I would use synthetic medicines which I would use, but only if absolutely necessary if nothing else would work. I pay a lot of attention to my diet and the foods I eat, because I believe the prevention is far better than cure. - Derek

The thing you have to remember about herbs, is that it is hard to make them consistent in batches-that's why one bottle of let's say, St. John's Wort is stronger than another bottle. I'm not saying they're not as good as synthetic medicines. And truth be told, I haven't found any 'cheap' herbs, lol! They're just as expensive as prescription meds or meds you buy over the counter, in my opinion.
