I had these pets earlier and I can definitely make out the fact that dogs are more loyal toward their owner. My cat which I had ,was when she was something about 1 month old,but as she grew she used to go outside the house some way or other and return with her lover and after some time ,she never returned, she mothered 3 kittens .While dog who was not with me from his birth but was bought when he was 2 years used to always be with us.

Pets are an adorable to almost everybody.dogs are as amiciable as cats. These two are sweetest things of nature that connects us to it.Cats are soft ,tender , needs more care ,on the other hand dogs are more adjusting and need lees care.
The greatest things about dogs are their FAITHFULNESS towards their owner even something unfavourable is done to it.

Just make sure we get pets as companions... not just playthings we discard when we get bored or whatever... that would be wrong.

You can have both! I know a friend who actually has both and they don't fight. :)

Both are great... but without the fur and hair!
Cats are rather cute, or well, at least I find them so but they are not loyal. They just come to you if they need scratching or food. Dogs however are loyal and will stick to you come what may.
I do not have pets myself but the above is the general impression I get. I am not sure how true it is, or if things have changed over their gene evolution process, or if there might be not-too-rare exceptions.
That's why I think it would be great if we can have a loyal cat! Then again, there are many adorable dogs around too... so you can get one of those companions.

I'm a dog person,I don't like cats.I like dogs because they're more affectionate. They're fun pets. They don't scratch you,and they depend on their human owners for attention. There isn't much you can do with a cat.You can't play ball with it.Can't carry it around or take it with you.Dogs love to go for car rides.

I have had a dog and I still have a cat. My view is on the cleanliness of the pet. Dogs walk outside and than jump up on your furniture. this leaves your home filthy. I find cats who are indoor cats are so clean to be around. So I say cats are the better pet. The loyalty of a dog is great as well..My dog barked at me non stop.

In my view dogs are better than cats in every view except cat are expert in catching small rats. But dogs too can catch rats but they are bigger compared to cats, where cats can push themselves where rats go for hidings. lol are you thinking of TOM & JERRY ???. lol
friend in positive view too dogs are better and that too black dog. Cats are not loyal as dogs, cats can leave us anytime if they get a better place than yours. :P

Undoubtedly,I perfer cat to dog. I don't know why but maybe because I raised a cat before. I had a cat when I was 9 years old. The cute baby had a very common name "mimi". Acutally, Mimi was a homeless cat. My mom saw her on the way home. The little she was looked pathetic. So my mom brought her home and decided to raise her. I clearly remember I was so exciting that day. Later, my father's friend asked us to lent him Mimi for some days course there were rats at his home. Of course we lent Mimi to him. But two days later, he told us Mimi was missing! I was sooo sad when I knew it. I lied to myself Mimi left his home for she wanted be back, and she would be back some day. Unfortunately, Mimi went out from my life forever.

Hi nar8988,
It depends!
If someone who want a loyal but sticky pet, then a dog will be fine. If someone who want a pet at home but want more freedom at the same time, then a cat is much better.
For me, I love both, but I have neither of them, as the appartment I am staying at is not allowed to have dogs or cats. Moreover, I do believe a bigger place is good for them. In Hong Kong, lands are the most expensive things. Over 90% of us are living in appartment, and most of the appartments are so small, only range from 400 to 800 sqft, with 2 to 8 family members. It is not suitable for bringing up a dog or a cat.
Have a nice day!

I love dogs and I love cats too. My family had cats when I was a child. I remember the cats with love and fondness. My mom had a white cat called Sylvester and a brown cat called Tucker. Then she had a couple of stray cats and gave them a loving home.
She had an orange and brown cat called Minnie and a silver tabby cat called Tiger.
I have got two dogs now that I am grown up. I have got some Miniature Poodles. They are called Secret and Magic. They are faithful and loving companions. They keep me company and I miss them when I go off traveling overseas. I love taking my dogs out for walks.

I would definately say that a dog is a better pet than a cat. The dog uses the bathroom outside and I don't have to worry about cleaning out a litter box. I taught my dog tricks and have never been able to teach a cat a thing! The dog doesn't jump on the kitchen table. The cat I owned a couple of years ago wouldn't do it while I was home, but if I left the house, I returned with cat hair on the table. It was disgusting! I think I could go on and on. I love my dog and wouldn't trade her for the world! I will never own another cat!

I love both cats and dogs as well as i have both.I have 5 cats now and 3 dogs.I think that they can all be very loyal, but cats tend to let them selves in and out and i have one cat that i think lives here as well as at another persons house as he go missing for twelve hours at a time.I was bought up with only cats, but i do love dogs just as much even though i have been bitten by one when i was younger.
