What are you going to do for New Years Eve?

Are you doing something special for new years eve? Or are you like some of us just going to stay at home and do nothing? We aren't doing anything special for new years eve. We are those kind of boring people we don't like big parties we don't like crowds of people to go and get drunk with. We will probably do what we have done in the past, get a bottle of champagne and celebrate with each other. So what are your plans for new years eve? Do you do the same thing every year? Or are you going to do something real special this year?

I don't think i'll be doing much this New Year's Eve...maybe i'll just eat some of my favorite foods...then watch movies with my family, watch fireworks outside, surf the web for something that would interest me...and spend time with my sister's kids. Nothing much but still I treasure it because I'll be with my family and they are important to me.

Hello Hapsicordable. It is always nice to spend time with family. Sounds like a good thing to sit with family and watch movies. Hope you have a wonderful new years eve.

Hi Hapsicordable. Is always nice to cook a good meal at home. My husband and I love to cook. We will be eating black eyed peas that was a tradition for my family when growing up. I hope you have a happy new year!

Typically I watch TV. Most stations would do their own live countdowns. Afterwards, I would take a peek out the window to watch fireworks.

Hi Joseline and welcome to my lot. Watching TVand staying at home isn't a bad thing. I wish we could see the fireworks. We might get some fireworks and do our own fireworks. Have a happy new year!

I do agree on that one; however I got a little phobia over fireworks; had a bad experience before (imagine this, judas belt in front of you popping like crazy and you frozen like a deer - stucked in headlights - saved by my father's component baffles made of steel). I still do watch fireworks from the safe distance though - television...ehehe. Happy 2010.

I got invited to three different new years eve parties. I wish I could make all of them but the one I am going to go to is the one that I go to every year. It is at my father in laws house. It always has good food and lots of drinks. The kids usually watch a movie and get pretty wild. I always love get togethers so I can visit with family and watch my children play with their cousins. It is a great feeling. I am nervous about this years New Years eve party though. Its knowledge now that my husband and I are likely splitting up and he wants me to go to the new years eve party anyway. I worry they will be nasty to me because of whats going on but I guess I'll have to deal with it if they do and try not to let it bother me.

I hope that they have enough sense to be nice and not be nasty. If they do be nasty then they are just rude and I will ignore them. My sisters ex used to come around to see his kids and although I didnt care for him after what he did I NEVER was mean to him. I am still nice whenever I see him. It didnt work out between them but it doesnt mean I have to hate him. If someone doesnt do something to me pesonally then there is no reason for me to hate them. I cant believe tomorrow is new years eve already it just seemed to pop up out of no where. I have to think of something to make to take with me. I have some frozen chicken broccoli alfredo jumbo shells frozen in the freezer that I can cook and bring with me. That would be easier then making something. I made them from scratch but the batch was way to large to cook all at once so I froze half to cook another time. I made them for Christmas dinner at my moms house.

Hello Shaggin sorry this is happening to you at this time of the year. Sometimes I think in laws are not remembering the good things we do while married to their family. People should let bygones be bygones and move on. Just because of a divorce what the heck it didn't have anything to do with them. This is the time of the year when people should stand by peoples sides. Well I hope and pray you have a great new year and don't let them put a damper on your party. Happy new year and may this next year bring many blessings for you and your family! Happy new year!

Hi, free_man! I may just stay home on that day. I did went to Watch Night Service at my church last year. I may not go this year. I will just sit at home and enjoy the peace of knowing that a new year will be coming in. I don't really go out to party. I will just silently party at home in my own special moment. This is a day that I will spend at home with my beautiful family. Happy Holidays!

This is the second year we will be spending new year's eve without my brother and my sister since they are both at work. I am still unsure if we will pursue with preparing food or if we would just postpone the dinner the next day when they are both home. I think there is a party on our street but like before, I would never go out and mingle with everyone else ( I dont know my neighbors, to be honest) What's sure for me to do though is to go to church and thank God for another year, go online to greet friends and maybe light up some fountains.. :D

Hi Calai. Sorry your brother and sister have to work. I know how that is I have had to work on new years eve and it wasn't a good thing. We don't really know our neighbors either but that is only because they don't live close. Our closest neighbor is about a city block away and just seems like people don't want to know anyone anymore. I wish we had a better knowledge of our neighbors. It is always a good thing to ask God for another good year. Happy new year!

Hi Cutepenguin. Well staying at home at least you won't have to drive anywhere. I hate having to drive during the holidays people get a little nutty during the holidays. I like to be at home for new years eve. I like celebrating with my husband. I have been blessed to have gotten such a good man. At least you know you will be safe at home. Happy new year!

Well, this year my boyfriend and I are living in a new area and there isn't as much to do, as it's a smaller metropolitan area. We come from Baltimore, which is much bigger than where we are living now. We don't really want to drive around nor do we know any good hot spots close to home. We wanted to have a party, but it seems as though nobody really wants to come. As of right now, we still have no definite plans! Ugh!! Happy new year!!

Hello Bethany. Well maybe next year you will find out the hot spots. I like sharing the holidays with my husband and being at home. We are not really party people we like sharing this time with family and friends but not going out to parties where there is no one we know. Happy new year!

Don't just stay home and do nothing! That's a waste of a perfectly great, bright, exciting holiday. Even if you stay home because you don't like crowds or for financial reasons, make sure you find some way to commemerate New Years Eve.

I will be typing in here, eating snacks and see the fireworks. May be out to see the mountains in somewhere place. I don't like to much drink, it'll make my stomach bloated. And, I like to watch people walking in front of me.

Hi May. I don't like strangers walking in front of me. The mountains are just out our front and back door so it is nice to wake up and see them each and everyday. I think it is wise not to drink too much. Wish we could see the fire works but bet we won't we didn't last year or the year before. We live in a real small area and not much goes on around here. Hope you have a great new years eve!

Hey Free Man!Staying home is special for us! We have the kids home. We stay up, watch movies, play games... and make our own confetti. At midnight we stop whatever movie we're watching and watch Mr.Dickk Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve and countdown! We throw the homemade confetti all over the floor and leave it there until morning. Kids go to bed. We have a glass of champaign, turn on some Christmas music and take all the Christmas cards off the tree and read them before off to bed. I figure once the last kid is out of the house we'll have plenty of New Year's Eves to go out!;*)

Hello Bearballew sounds like a great thing to do with your kids while they are young. This will impress their young minds and maybe start a new tradition they can share with their children. Never done that with my children wish I had though. Happy new year!

We are not doing anything for New Years Eve Either. We do the same thing every year basically, spend it with our kids and have like special snacks try to make something new each year. Sometimes rent movies for home or play boardgames , mostly like a family time. Now that a few of the kids have gotten older they will be out with their friends but the little ones still home with us. New Years day we always smoke a turkey outside and have a family dinner type meal but nothing big. We never drink on New Years Eve or New Years day. Hope everyone on mylots has a safe new years :)

Hi Good2go. Sounds like you will be having a nice time. I don't think that new years eve is a good time to drink and be anywhere except home. It is a lot safer to stay at home then to go out in public where no one knows what can happen. Hope everyone has a safe and happy new year!

Hello Tunexzy and welcome to my lot. What a good thing to do asking God to forgive your sins and to make the new year a blessing is a good thing. Always asking God to bless each and every day is a good thing. And may God make this new year a blessing to all of us. Thank God for a new year! Happy new year!

we typically go to church from 6 pm til 8 pm then a family that attends our church invites everyone over (they have a huge house) and for those that make it til midnight, they have a glass of champagne. i doubt we will stay that long this year because i am having a lot of thyroid issues at the moment.

Hi Cher. Sounds like a nice way to bring in the new year. Wish our local churches taught the bible like it is supposed to be taught. So we could have a church to go to. Sorry your having a thyroid problem. Hope the new year brings good tidings.

We live in Spain, and we'll be going to our neighbours for supper early evening, with about 10 others. We've booked taxis for 11.30 to take us into the village square, where the local council give out party packs to everyone, which include hats, masks streamers, garlands and a bag of 12 grapes. It's the custom in Spain to eat a grape on each stroke of midnight for good luck in the New Year. Then there's fireworks, and we take cava to toast the New Year. The square will be packed, and most of the people there will be drunk, but, unlike in England, there'll be no trouble at all. At 12.30, we'll go back to a bar within walking distance of home and spend another hour or so there before heading for bed. That was our routine last year, and it was the best New Year we'd ever had.
