Is the sufferings in our present life a result of our past life sins?

If this question is asked from astrologers, they will relate this with sky and planets. If this question is asked from a Jyotish, he will see the crossings of your palm and tell you how your future or present is affected by your past. But i am neither a astrologist nor a jyotish so i will just say that whatever you do in your present will be your past one day and thus is logically related to your past for sure.

Greetings, I believe what the Holy Bible says which states in Hebrews that it is appointed only once for a person to die, then the judgment. This is the most logical thing I have ever heard. During this life God gives many opportunities to turn around and commit to Jesus Christ. Once they do so, their sins are completely forgiven.

Every present moment is a result of the action from the past. If you kill somebody, sooner or later you will be prosecuted, so isn't that a consequence of a past action? Similarly, all the sufferings we go through is nothing but a carried over residue from a past life, and yes, it continues. It doesn't get over with one life. The effects have to be paid for. We all do good deeds as well as bad ones. But, what matters the most is the bad karmas, because they always have inflicted suffering upon someone we don't know. So, that has to be sorted out first and paid for. Do you have to have pay for your good deeds? You don't have to. The good deeds are already giving you results with the kind of life you have got, and probably a healthy body, a good job, nice family etc. But suffering maybe coming to you in between the good things you have, as a result of your sins of some past. What matters is, which has been the dominant force here. Our bad deeds or good deeds. And based on this dominant force, our future takes form and we live the consequences in the future.

Hi sailajasayani, What you are referring to here is karma, and I think that it may be carried from one lifetime to another. I feel that we have all had many past lives but this time we may be focusing on problems left over from one particular incarnation. Once we have come to realize the reason for our suffering, it ofter disappears. Remember that the important thing right now is living this life, and let both the past and future take care of itself. well the first 2 persons said it,all i can say is that they are right,the way how u r living now and the things u r facing r due tom the past life events,so try and make it right in this one so when u move on to the other life things will be much better
