I got a Box of Mogwai for Christmas

Our annual get together on Christmas Eve went off without a hitch. The night all of my old friends get together and catch up and we also remember those who are no longer with us.
The problem arose when a friend I had not seen in nearly a year gave me a Christmas gift, nothing wrong with that I hear you say but it was a box of screaming Mogwai and they have been screaming at me since I got them
The Mogwai in this case was a box of expensive cigars, somewhere along the line, this friend did not know I gave up smoking a number of months ago.
This box is on my desk right now and has been since Christmas Eve and it is still screaming at me
Everyone one I knew I loved a nice cigar at Christmas but I am not going to give in to temptation. Tomorrow I am going to give the box to my Dad so there will be no more shouts of "smoke me".
Have you ever gotten a nice gift that you could just not use or keep ?

OhMY, I SURE AM GLAD U EXPLAINED WHAT MOGWAI WAS. WHEN I WAS READING ABOUT THEM SCREAMING, THOUGHT IT WAS SOME KIND OF HORRIBLE ANIMAL OR WORSE. That would be pretty tough to have around for sure if u have quit smoking, GOOD FOR U.yES, I HAVE GOTTEN GIFTS LIKE THAT. tHERE is always re-gifting , thank heavens, lol.

I admire your will power. i'm afraid mine is not that good when it comes to smoking. U are right i have never seen the gremlins. I'm always missing something, lol. Have a great day.

Hi, thezone. I have had a gift that I could not keep nor use. It was a gift that this older woman gave me. It was some slippers. And these slippers were too tight on my ankle. It made my feet uncomfortable. So, I never would wear them and I packed them down in a bag. I later gave them away. I just could not use these slippers for anything. I am glad that you have resisted the temptation of smoking. It is great that you are able to stick to your boundaries. Give them to your father so that you can be done with this temptation. I commend you on a job well done. It took so much from you to resist this temptation.

It was meant to be a very thoughtful gift!!! However, in your situation, I think sharing with your Dad is a GREAT idea!!!
