We have all heard the expression "have a good day", in fact many of us probably say it and have it said to us every day. Yet, isn't it true that if we want a good day, we must make it so? Isn't it true, that it's not what happens to us but the way we take it that really matters? Perhaps then, a better saying would be, "make a good day". What do you think?

Make it a good day. I think the expression of have a good day is just a polite way of saying a kind word to somebody. I try to make it a good day but then my feet hit the floor and I fight to make it through the day.

That is right, the type of day you have depends entirely on your mind set. No matter how bad the situations are if you can stay outside the box and see those as lessons to be learn, and be thankful not only for them but also for the ability to see that they are lessons, you will always have some form of good day. When I wish someone a good day, I take a moment to visualize a small cloud of goodness surrounding them. Weird right?

Hi savypat, Thank you for sharing and I actually think that you have the right idea. To wish someone a good day and then take a moment to see them surrounded by goodness is an added blessing. We can all have a good day, dispute what happens to us because it's all in our attitude. Blessings.

Hi Pose, How are you? Happy New Year...
I think "have a good day" is a lighter note, you may or you may not have, just a wish. "Make a good day", however, there's a push for you to do something to make your day good. So, in "make a good day" the addressed one may bear in mind, "I must make my day good". By this, it's not really what happens to us but how we make it happens.

I have never thought about it like that, perhaps you are right! However, there are things that happen that we have no control over and it's difficult to "have" or "make" a good day! But overall, it is up to us as to what kind of day we have. It's all about perspective and attitude!
