I have known of second hand cars but I have never before heard of secong hand tyres and worse they were imported .I know that persons locally can sell their tyres as well as thier cars but had I not been listening to the news I would have known that persons use imported tyres. Now I dont own a car and I cant drive but I know from what I have heard and simple common sense that cant be good thing to have because it would increase the chance of causing accidents .I mean our local standars agency was saying that when they test original tyres ,they only need to test a single tyre and that would be represenative of the entire sample .However on the other hand when they get a set of imported tyre they have to test all of them because no one tyre is representative of the lot. This is because every tyre has it own history and hence damage level depending on the lenght of time and the conditions under which it was used . So do you use "USED" tyres and is it even alllowed in your country ?

As an ex tyre fitter in my youth, I would say remoulds are not worth it. New tryes cost more but last twice as long.

That is very true Von, it would not matter if they are new or remoulded tyres, if they are not balanced correctly or the car has tracking problems they will wear down and the life of the tyre is decreased no end. So it is always worth getting these things done when you buy tyres for your car. I have seen some tyres wear very quickly when the tracking is out of alignment it tends to make your tyres very bald on on side or the other

I have never bought used, imported tires but I do remember years ago when one could buy "recaps". I am not sure if they are still available in the US.

I have never used a second hand tire before. I like to buy new ones instead. Second hand tires are not very reliable and have to be replaced very often. It is a waste of money.

Oh no!I haven't heard of this imported second hand tyre here,in India. There are retread tyres where they rebutton the used tyres by pasting them on the used ones. But they will not match the original one.I can understand your logic about importing a set of second tyres and sure we can't judge the quality by testing a single one.

I don't really know.In the old days you could buy re treds as they called them.My husband always buys new tyres for his car.I would think second hand tyres must be dangerous and you cannot drive fast on them surely.I don't like the sound of them myself.I know you can save money but what about your life.very frightening indeed.

I wouldn't use used tires. I don't like to use my tires, let alone someone else's. I would much rather new tires so I would know where they had been and how much they were used. New tires have an awesome feeling, used tires would probably feel the same way your old ones did.

I don't use "USED" tires but its allowed in my country, my husband works for a place that sells tires, and they have a place in the back where they put the used tires that are still good and still miles left on them, and people are always out there looking at them, they're free, if you need a tire and you find one that's the right size you need, you can have it. I understand that not all used tires are good and should be re-used, but its not illegal here to use them.

Yes, we us used tires in our country. There are actually stores that specialize in used tires. Thats all they have. I guess some richer folks think they are all used up so they buy new ones. The people that dont afford new tires buy used. I think sometimes a tire can wear through and have a blow out. Rarely is it dangerous but it can happen. You can have blow outs with new tires too. Perhaps by running over someting.

I have used remoulded tyres in the past but never would do again, new, budget imported tyres are only a little more expensive and much less risk. Out of the five remoulds I have bought, two of them ended up with bulges blown on the sidewalls that were the size of an ostritch egg, potential killers.

no like what you said it is secondhand is waste not to you use it is a garbage already. not to use by anyone . because if you use it your car will be slick it to road and that can cause any accident.

They are called retreads here, they are cheaper and just as good as new tires.
