Is anybody on here (besides myself) a fan of early Green Day? What I mean is anything they've done from 1990 to 1995.
Personally, I believe that 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours is their best album to date. A lot of people refuse to agree with me because it is Green Day's first album. I don't care though; "Paper Lanterns" is a fantastic song, as it is my favorite to date.

I am a huge fan of Greenday! I have loved them since I was 10 years old, and they have remained my favorite band since 10 years of age.
1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours is a great album don't get me wrong, however, out of the 1990-1995 era of Green Day, Kerplunk is my favorite. I believe the reason to why I like that album so much is that it is where the guitars were kicked up a notch, lyrics had a meaning behind them and you can see the progression of Welcome to Paradise starting off on Kerplunk.
My favorite songs off of Kerplunk would be 80---the cute tribute to his wife, Adrienne and One for the Razorbacks which has a cute meaning behind it.

I'm a huge fan of early Green Day and even there stuff towards there American Idiot album but there most recent album just isn't as clever and not quite as much as their old style. One of my favorite albums by them is Nimrod but I agree taht 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Dookie are some of their best albums. I remember putting Green Day on at parties when I was younger and people wouldn't really know who it was because they're only used to the newer style sounding Green Day.
Green Day helped me to evolve my musical taste.

Honestly the only CD of theirs I've ever gotten into was Dookie (if that's even the right one). I will have to look up more on youtube. Though some of their newer songs are decent but don't have any mosh pit quality to them IMO.
