Between a cat and a dog, which one do you prefer as pet and why. Some might prefer cats as they think its more cuddly and loving. But some think dogs are more intelligent than cats. Which one do you prefers?

No, I have no preference- I love them both.
I like dogs because they interact and understand a little more.
But cats are great too and can be trained and are a little more self reliant.
I think I will always have both in my house.
I currently have 4 dogs and 14 cats!

Wow, how do you maintain them? The maximum number of cats I was allowed before was six, while my parents had two dogs.

I prefer dogs a little bit more, though I love cats as well, especially kittens. Dogs are cute, lovable, and smart. They can really be good friends. I can bathe them easily, whereas most cats are afraid of water. Besides, I just find dogs to be more responsive and perceptive. I can interact with them more. A dog can even sense his owner's sadness. :D Another thing is that a dog's nails hurt much less than the cats'.

I prefer cats because you don't have to walk them, they are independent to an extend, you only have to clean a litter box, I could go on lol. I have been raised with cats since I was really young. I got nothing against dogs but they require a little more maintenance than cats.

I am absolutely cat people. I don't like dogs. I had one when I was a kid and she was awesome but even then she was the only dog I really liked. I've had cats all my life and I love them. They are low maintenance, if you go away for a week, you might need a neighbor to drop in halfway through, change the litter and fill the food dish but they don't need to stay at your house the whole time you're gone so your cat won't go berserk or so they can walk the cat. You don't have to get up at 3 in the morning to let the cat out.
And they don't beg for attention the way a dog does. I know so many people who brag about how good their dog is, how well-behaved it is and then when you meet said dog the first thing it does is freak out cause there's a new person to maul and then they jump up on you. Cats don't beg, they insist And cats are, by and large in my experience, smarter than dogs. I've met some dumb cats and some smart dogs but definitely the smart cats win out. I've read you can train a cat to guard your house better than any dog (assuming you can get your cat to lower itself to your level to be trained ).

You got a lot of experience on both of the pets. I like the way you describe their behaviour :-) Perhaps some people prefer a more cuddly, well behaved pets like cats and some prefer dogs due to their obedience and easier to train. Happy mylotting and Happy new year to you!

I like cats because they are sweet but I think I prefer dogs because I already taking good care of a dog right now and I enjoy taking care of him. I named him Jumbo because he is just ordinary breed of dog but he is bigger than the other dog like him. I feel safe every time he come with us when we are going somewhere here in our village. He is also good dog because he never bark in humans only in the other dogs that bark at him.

I love cats because they snuggle, cuddle, playful, and adorable. Do I like them more than dogs? Well, that is a little hard to say. Growing up, I would say that I did like cats better than dogs because I was scared of dogs after a dog bite my when I was young. It was not until I was in like my early 20's that we got a beagle and I re-fell in love with dogs. I love dogs because they are also playful, affection, want love, and loyal. Living in an apartment I know it would not be fair to get a dog especially when I am busy working and going to school all the time. My cat tolerates it pretty well because he is very independent and wants like one a few minutes of attention. My cat is a little bit on the ADHD side - LOL! Also, with the whole pet rent, it is expensive enough for a cat, but they charge three times as much per month. Tigger (the cat) and I joke a dog would be a good graduation present in about 4 - 6 months. I doubt I'll get a dog until I move to house with a yard that is the only way it would be fair for the dog. I do love dog's when I was working providing in-home therapies I would fall in love with my clients dogs. I also tend to say hello to all the dogs when I walk to get the mail. It is funny how people with pets just seem more approachable or maybe it is just I let my guard down; then a little easier.
I love both cats and dogs. Tigger (the cat) likes both dogs and cats.

If I were to choose between the two animals. I would prefer "dogs". They are friendly and can be trained easily. They know how to obey their boss. Unlike the cats, they will just ignore you.
