What could the next generation video gaming console offer us. I've been playing video games since the Atari days. Today, the Xbox360 and PS3 has the latest technology in gaming. State of the art graphics, fluidity in in-game movements, motion sensing capabilities... How can you still improve this kind of technology? What could be the next big thing in gaming that hasn't been done yet?

I've seen totally interactive "consoles" if you can even call them that where you can climb into like. A big sphere and walk around and it'll walk you around like you're walking around in the virtual world. They also have sensors n' such where let's say you were playing a shooter and you got shot "in-game" it would give you a little shock so you can get a kind of "physical" feel to it. Pretty innovative. I think the problem now though is to how to make one that is soooo low on cost as to allow everyone to get at least one in their house. Because I mean, the technology exists. It's just way over-priced to be used for commercial use. I would see it being used in many museums, training excercises n' etc. I just don't see how they will market it for personal commercial use for gaming n' such.

Don't know how many of you keep up with how the 360 is moving up to next gen. with their project Natal.
What project Natal is, is basically doing the same thing the Wii is doing, but taking it a step further by making it done with only motions, no controllers once so ever.
There are also supposed to be nice features on it that let you scan in items into certain games, like say a new tony hawks game, you could scan in your real board that you use, then use that in the game.
I don't think I could explain this as well as Microsoft does, so hit up the search engines and check for info on project Natal for the xbox360, you will be amazed at what they are trying to do.
The only down side is it was rumored to be released in 2015 or later.
