Good day to all mylotters. Recently as I was searching the net for new inventions I founded out that the Institute of Nanotechnology develop a contact lense that changes color when it detects a rise or fall of the blood sugar level. Nanoparticles is embedded in these hydro gel lenses which reacts with glucose molecules in naturally occurring tears. A chemical reaction then causes the lenses to shift hues alerting the wearer to falling or spiking sugar levels so that the wearer can appropriately do adjustment on the food he or she ate.All without carrying the needed devices to draw up blood for self analysis. ( source GIZMODO.com ) Impressive isn't it because as we all know diabetics are saddled with the task of checking their blood sugar level by pricking themselves to get a blood sample but now as technology improves the life of each of us is also improved. What can you say about these latest medical inventions my friends?

Diabetes has been called the silent killer due to it's fatality which does not show itself at first and creates complications during illnesses. Diabetes can be divided into Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Diabetes needs to be controlled with a continuous watch on blood sugar levels, and if it exceeds the prescribed blood sugar level it can prove fatal. I am not diabetic but I know many people who are suffering from the condition. It is really good that such an invention has been made thus eliminating the need for pricking oneself which is a sort of punishment to oneself. However, making an invention and converting that invention into a commodity that can be made available in the market are two different things. There is a long process that takes time before an invention hits the market. The primary consideration is the viability of selling it and whether it is going to make a good profit or not. Only if there is a purported demand for the product and can be sold at a price that covers costs and gives a good yield will it be available in the market. Thus we may need to wait and see whether the invention will be avalable for diabetics to make use of it and stop pricking themselves to test for blood sugar.

I am really hoping that it will be out of the market Emvy so that many people will be benefited from it. Like I said it was just published very recently last December 21, 2009 so I hope that it will rock the medical world by next year. But I am just concern about it's side effects to the wearer and probably it's long term side effects that's my concern.

In today's date , most of the people are diabetic and the chief cause is using of excess sweets but some people say that it also occurs due to tension. My father was diabetic and I say this is one of the worst diseases a person can have, how could people live without sweets and with daily doses of injection.
