13 round fruits for new year?

In the philippines has always been a tradition to serve 13 kinds of round fruits for new year. We just went to market earlier and bought 13 different kinds of round fruits. Do you guys serve 13 different kinds of round fruits for new year? happy new year to all.

This is kind of neat. I have never heard of this tradition before. Do you know where the tradition was created and why? I love many round fruits so I would be interested in knowing more about it. Thanks and Happy New Year to you.

This was created here in the philippines.It's a belief that round fruits will bring in wealth for the coming year.

That is much better than what we were always told would bring wealth in the New Year. I grew up hearing that you had to eat black eyed peas and stewed tomatoes for wealth in the New Year. Round fruit is so much yummier. I think I will try this and see if it works here in the US as well.
