I will definitely say yes.some movie make you emotional but not all movies can make your eyes wet.To really make your eyes wet, movie has to get above par and should have some extraordinary acting and scene.

Yea, when I stare too long at the screen, then my eyes get wet due to strain. :-) Kidding.... I am too sensitive and emotional, and I happen to get tears in my eyes very easily. But these days it's a bit less, because I have started seeing the whole movie is nothing but just a script enacted by a unit, more or less. But still, if the story is depicted in an extremely realistic manner, coming extremely close to our daily life events, then I am moved for sure. A movie like Rang De Basanti, did make me CRY in the end, not just have wet eyes.

I think any movie that has been able to wet the eye of the audience has served its purpose really well. The work of the movie is to immerse the audience in its world and when a movie wets the eye it indeed put you on the ride. I have seen many movies in which I became so emotional that I started crying.

Most recently, The Blind Side made my eyes water because the story was so touching. I cry when movies are sad because they reach my heart, or when I can relate to what is happening on screen. It definitely requires good actors because the scene must feel real and their hearts must be completely into their character.

I have actually had a few movies that had made me cry, and many more that have come real close. I think "Boy in Striped Pajamas", "The Story of Us" and "Away from Her" are 2 of the former movies.
I think the way a movie makes you cry is to hit on a situation that is near to your heart. Even if the acting is not good, the situation is what makes you cry.
Anyway, just my 2 cents worth.

No. That's crazy. Movies don't make me sad. If I tear up it's because I had something in my eye. I'm not emotional. Look the other way.

Yes a good film can make you cry, but that is really the point of film making. No matter what genre of movies we are talking about. They all in some way are geared towards Iiliciting your emotions to try and take you on a journey through the story. When it works well, movies can make you cry, laugh, or at times become angry at what is happening on the screen. A good film will make you think, and empathize with its story and characters, while taking you on an journey you could never, or would never experience in real life.
