Is it just me, or has Peter changed?

I have been a watcher of Family Guy for about 4 years now. It seems like in the older episodes the funny things about Peter are more from him being just dumb. But in the newer episodes, Peter seems a lot more pompous and smart-mouthed. Does anyone else notice this? I thought Peter was a lot funnier when he was just stupid. w

I haven't noticed this, but I'm sure that all characters, in ALL shows (whether Family Guy or not) evolve over time. I'm sure Seth McFareland (or however you spell his name!) is just trying out new stuff and wanting to use new material, and that might be why the scripts and types of humor are changing. I really haven't actually seen all that many newer Family Guy episodes, though.

Probably different writers, and the fact that there is a new show that has developed from Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, is taking up all of the developer's time. I don't think it's as funny as it used to be, especially when they started going after politics, that's more South Park's territory.
