Is Peace Real?

Personally I live everyday with as much peace as possible nowadays. i try to find or make peace as much as I can. But realistically, around my family and friends. But realistically, world-wise, Peace is not real. Just think about it, not everyone believes in the same thing. Not everyone is perfect. Theres always going to be people fighting no matter what because that's life and nobody wants to be wrong. These are the little things but imagine the bigger reasons. No matter how much we hope and pray that one day everyone will have peace, it's not going to happen. It just won't. But that's my opinion.
What are your opinions?

Hi, AaronYLeung. Peace is real it is just an action that can only be carried out by people. They will have to initiate it for it to come into effect. If they don't, then peace will never exist. It will just be a word. But, there is always peace with God and Jesus. They always have peace no mater what.

Yes, you are right. If people will just stop and think and learn to show compassion for others, then life will have peace. They will have peace too. It needs to be initiated. If it does not, then peace will just be a word that is just said. I hope that peace can come on Earth. I have peace, but not everyone can have it when destruction comes along. Never ending peace is what I am looking forward to in thus world.

Amen! Thats exactly what I want to. I want people to know and start peace, not just hear about it.

I agree! There is always peace with God and Jesus! =] hehe
But thats the thing, people dont do anything to have peace. People argue. People fight. There are those who start it but it doesnt end with peace. Sure there might be some who start peace and it will end with peace, but there is always someone to break it.
Thanks for the response! =]

Rejoice Aaron for it will happen. But it is going to have to be when Christ returns. Revelation 20 tells us He will reign for 1,000 years. Isaiah points out that the knowledge of the Lord shall fill the earth. Even the animals, like a lamb and a wolf, will be at peace with each other (Isa. 11:6). Also remember that Isaiah called the Christ the Prince of Peace.
Right now, in regard to people we might have difficulty. Paul by the Spirit said to be at peace with all men so far as it depends upon you.
In Christ we can always have that inward peace that passes all understanding.

I can't wait til He returns,I'm looking forward to the Real peace we'll be living in.It sounds so wonderful.I don't believe humans will have peace unless it's from Christ.People are always searching for peace, but they know not what it says in the Bible. Thanks Pastor for commenting on this subject.

Yes! Amen! I also believe that through Christ, we can get inward peace. HOWEVER not everyone in the world knows Christ.

Peace is real, I really believe there is peace but we fail to find it. When we find it, it is easy to lose. The reason why Peace is difficult to find because people are different, they have different beliefs, they have different cultures, the only thing that we have to do is to respect them and avoid them. We need understanding of our differences. Peace can start inside your home, if you respect and understand each other with your family member, it can start in a small community, in a school, but we lose it fast because of differences. I guess if we really want peace, will work hard to have it.

After about 7 years of deep contemplation, I have changed my mind (and answer). I do believe that true peace is real and can be found while on earth. Now, as for the ways to reach that peace, well, I'd like to leave that to each their own. From my personal opinion however, I think the only way to truly find that peace is through Jesus Christ and from resting all of one's worries/doubts/fears/anger and all that negativity into God's hands

Same here. Lately, I've been trying to find peace, though it is noisy at home and it is sometimes frustrating to find some quiet, I always try to stay calm inside regardless of what's happening around me. What you said is true. Not everyone believes in the same thing. Even if everyone in the world was to accept everyone else, there's always at least one person who will disagree and think differently about someone. Nobody is perfect. I agree with you. I don't think there will ever be world peace, at least not true world peace, where there is absolutely no disagreeing thought and everyone is truly calm and at peace. I highly doubt that it would happen.

Hey Aaron do you think you can explain to me what you mean by peace? If anything, I think peace can't be attained because when we talk about peace or world peace we never specify, we talk about these terms like everyone will just understand what is meant. For example I think of peace as being able to express oneselve freely in a room with people who disagree and to have people engage you on that subject without trying to make you feel ashamed, or some sort of pressure to agree. Let's call it a world in which disagreement doesn't lead to physical peril. I also think of peace as a world in which we do not exploit, manipulate, or hurt others intentionally, unintentionally, or directly/undirectly. When we truly treat others as we want to be treated. There will still be disagreements, there may still even be murder, but we wont be killing for profit, nor treating people like comodities, nor will we be more concerned with stuffing ourselves as opposed to making sure everyone can eat.

I still agree that peace is very much attainable at this time if people are just cooperative and would hear both sides if conflict arise and acceptance of each others fault. I just hope and pray also that whenever we are peace would always reign especially for this coming 2010.

I think whatever we believe in can happen. If most people believe in peace then there will be peace and vice-a-versa.
I donot think it is naive to believe that we can have a peaceful world. We've had the opposite in the world so why not peace?
Actually I think more and more people are becoming aware that we will lose our ability to survive in this world if we continue to have wars with each other, take advantage of one another etc.
Living the opposite way will increase our ability to survive as a group. If you believe in God then you will definitely have a philosphy close to this mentality.

It is easy to have peace within self when one feel serene and calm. But, the peace is often disturb by lot of worries and troubles which bring a lot of stress to the person experiencing it whether it may be internal or external disruption they kinda affected the whole beings as many suffer from disruption created by other sources and not even plan or organized, yet they affected the disposition which often lead to a lot of disappointment and mistrust.
