I'm not talking about GPT sites or anything even close to that, I'm talking about running a real business that is working well with todays economy? Where you really have to work, not play.
If you don't mind, I'd like to hear what it is and what company you are with because so many people today are working from their homes and turning away from the outside world. The job market is a mess right now and I've been looking for work for months to no avail. Even through the Christmas season with all the applications I have out there, no one ever called me...
I'm only curious and please don't PM me, I don't need a bunch of Spam in my mailbox......I would appreciate it if you would just share it with me and the other myLotters.
So, will you share? Oh, and if you do mention something of interest that I think I would possibly be interested in, I'll check out the reviews and reports on it and get back to you.
Thank you in advance for any help, it's really appreciated!
Happy New Year Everyone!

Well, I have been selling used books on line for about 8 years now. It is a real business that I do from home. My garage is full of inventory which is what it takes to run a home business if you are selling things. Because of the economy and the kindells business is not quite what it used to be, and I at this time I would not suggest getting in to this business since I have aquired my inventory over time it is still a viable business for me. But if you have books you don't want any longer you could certainly sell them online and make some money on them.

Good for you ladym! I'm glad to hear someone is making the most out of this economy right now. It is very hard to establish yourself anywhere. I was looking for something to start now so I can hopefully relax a little in years to come. I'm older and need to get something going.
I've already sold most of my books already along with numerous other items on Ebay but the fee's are getting outrageous. I've been a dealer for years but only small items. Can I ask you where you sell yours online?

Hi all - - - ladym33 (5665) I have a friend who sells books as well through Amazon.com I am thinking about looking into it as well.
I am vision impaired, and recently widowed, so I too look for additional opportunities to do from home.
I have gotten started in a new home based "Wellness" business. I had left an email on a previous post about it, but that must have been a "no - no" cause the page disappeared.
Let me just share one brief story: a young couple started with our company back in July. She was sick all of the time, and their bills for meds for her were $90 A WEEK! After 3 weeks using our product, she was off of all of here meds.
That's just one of many stories of the product's greatness. Oh I forgot - they started in July, and by Oct., were in the "50K" bracket in earnings.
I don't want to be acussed of spamming here so will quit with this and hope this post does not get deleted.
If interested - invite me into your circle of friends and I can answer questions.
I don't spam or pressure anyone - just answer questions, and share a few success stories and that's it. People know what they want and don't want.
Happy New Year to all

Oh sure, I've heard of Arbonne, they've been around for a while. I'll have to check it out because I don't remember if I ever did or not. Thank you very much. Are you making a full-time living at this or is this part-time?

I started doing this on the side of my full time job but now this is it for me, I quit my full time office job back in May,(9 months after starting) after replacing my income :)
It definately takes some work to build, but its worth it to have your business :)
If you ever want some info let me know :)
Take care!

I certainly wish I knew of something, as I would like to not be in the job I have.I am exhausted, and am keeping it mainly to get some health care this year. We do have some products we sell, but not aggressively. I do some freelance writing, but not a whole lot, not enough to replace a job.

Oh I hear you Gerty! It's so hard today I'm even thinking about getting a sugar daddy, HAHAHA!!! Just kidding of course. I do work for KeyForCash and Textbroker at home but it's just not enough to support myself and the kitty on. It sure is rough out there right now so I thought I'd see what everyone else is doing. Maybe there will be something for you too! Happy New Year!

I hope you find the answer! Or a job! I know it's got to be tough. I do work from home too...but still have a full time job as the home business isn't enough to live off. I am a writer but also do craft shows...and I do sell alot of what I make. But like I said it's a nice extra money to fall back on....but not enough to live on. I haven't heard of anything really that anyone does from home that could be considered full time unless its something specialized like my friend who does upholestry work and has a shop from her home.

I hope we ALL find an answer here, haha. It is tough when you're the sole provider for the kitty. I use to do crafts all the time but I can't even afford a stupid table right now to sell them, or rent a booth anywhere. A part-time job would be nice just to keep me going. I am on Social Security but it only pays the rent and maybe one utility bill, that's it. I need some real cash if you know what I mean, which I'm sure you do, lol! I do work for two companies online, one is writing for Textbroker, and the other is KeyForCash. It helps when there is enough work. Happy New Year!

I work from my home, but it's not a home business. It's a small business. I am a pet sitter. I love my work and do as many hours as I can. I can't work it full time because I am disabled and in pain much of the time. 2 or 3 sits a day is my limit. If it were all cats I could do more, but walking dogs is hard work. I have most of the dogs "wupped" into shape. I say "wuped", but I use positive reinforcement, distraction and a lot of waiting. Treats and kisses too. It took a long time to get the dogs to sit for the leash, wait at the door, walk next to me, not in front, and not pull on the lead.
None of my clients dogs are as good as my dog, but I only walk them a few times a year. I have had much more time to work with my dog and teach her what I expect.

The commute to Petco would kill me. I'm many thousands of miles from the nearest one. Training dogs is easy. Training their humans is hard. Some of my clients listen and are thrilled when my small bits of advice make huge differences in their dogs behavior. Others don't have the time or patience to wait the dog out or do whatever the right way and their dog won't behave for them.

Hi Kashmeresmycat - Running a real business that helps one to give up the day job is a long cherished dream for hundreds of thousands of people all over the world. However, not many have been able to come close to it. GPT work pays in cents and becomes a dollar only after weeks and in some cases months. You have to trade large amounts of your time in order to earn a few cents everyday.
One way of earning well online used to be through your own blog. I have used past tense because now with millions of sites and blogs coming up every day, monetizing your blog earns precious little. However, there is a concept called membership sites that seems to be doing well for many people. For starting one though, you need excellent content and a mailing list that will enable you to acquire members for your membership site.Once you have people enrolling for your site, you can charge them on a monthly basis or a for a duration as fixed by you. You can even follow different variations like for example, free basic membership with tiers for paid membership depending on the level of content accessible by members.
You can think of anything that you are good at and plan a membership site for that field. All the information that you for your membership site need can be obtained through research on the net. Membership sites are believed to yield a very high regular income with no need to add content with the frequency needed for a blog - the content can be periodically updated and that too only if required. If you need any further information please feel free to send me a message so that I can help you in your endeavor.
Wish you too and everyone else reading this post a Super New Year 2010 and Happy MyLotting!

The problem with Membership sites is that alot of them are scams which make for a bad reputation when considering it.
It's not quite what I'm looking for and I'm not that capable yet of giving all that excellent content. I'm looking more for a business that has proved itself over the years. I'm really not interested in a new concept at this point, but Thank you very much for your input! Happy New Year!
