I have been addicted to soda lately. I can not go a day without it. I have noticed if I try to go without it for one day I start to get a headache. I think it because I am drinking soda that has alot of caffine in it. I hate getting headaches. I don't know what to do I am conceded because I don't want depend on soda the rest of my life to prevent a headache. I want to be headache free. I think I am going to try to wean myself off the soda slowly and see what happens. These headaches can get really bad!

Ahh, sounds like caffeine withdrawal symptoms. I have them too..If I don't get my daily dose of caffeine every day. Which is probably 3-4 servings of caffeine at the minimum. I hate being dependent on soda/energy drinks, too, but I just don't know what to do! They're so incredibly addictive. One thing that you could try is drinking caffinated herbal tea or coffee to help yourself wean off of soda. At least then you get the caffeine that your body feels it needs, but skipping out on all of those yucky additives, sugar, and high fructose corn syrup. I personally am addicted as well to the corn syrup, and too lazy to try this. But I'm sure it would work!

I've been trying coffee lately. Just because I feel the soda can't keep me awake anymore. But I should try that caffeinated herbal teas. I haven't discovered that. I just feel that if I drink coffee, I have to eat a muffin, or a cookie, or something. That's why I think tea would be better, as I don't associate it with eating something else.

I would not say that I am addicted. I mean, I drink a soda or three daily, but I can stop at any time. (As I talk, I realize that's something that an addict would say). I don't really know when the last time I went without a soda was, so I could not say if I could have any side effects if I stopped.

Yes. Especially to diet soda. I used to drink at least two cans a day. I mostly liked diet coke and diet sprite. But I started decreasing the amount I drank gradually because all the news report about the negative consequences of too much soda. At first it was one per day, then it was one per three days, and then now it is just maybe one per week or so.

This happens to me also. I drink soda every day and I know I shouldn't but I am addicted to it. I would say that weaning yourself off of it slowly sounds like a good idea. I should try this too. :)

i've been addicted to sodas for years. i drink it to wake me up. i try coffee but it just doesn't do the trick like soda. i'm addicted to the caffeine and sugar so thats why I drink soda. I worse than you when it comes to soda as i drink several a day. i really don't want to change either. its really a stress reliever more than anything when i drink them. i'm not the type to gain weight even if i eat lots of sugar or fat so that also makes me not want to change. i know i can lose weight any time i try as i have confidence in that so i'm worried. the only thing that worries about the soda is my teeth so i brush them much more than the average person.

..Hi tuckersheri, I love Pespi, it is somewhat of an addiction, and very bad for you especially if you are a woman. Because it has been said that it worsens your bones. But I keep drinking it, there is too much sugar in it as well, but like I said, I love Pepsi. I don't kniw if you were the one who posted about the migrain headaches, if so this is redundant, so forgive me. Try blowing oxygen into your brain, by holding your nose, closing your mouth and blowing gently like a blowfish forcing oxygen up to your brain, at least ten blows for six or seven sessions. It stops my headaches. Take care. Enjoy your New Year.

Hi tuckersheri,
I was once addicted to Soda myself; there was this time I was capable of drinking one litre of Soda (Coke, MD, name it) per day. Now, I am down to at least three bottles per week. Sometime it is okey to drink every now and then, but substituting this to water is a no-no.
It is not just headaches, but also the long term effects. You get all the calories but zero nutrients.
Good luck.

Hi,
Even i drink soda but i m not an addicted to it.To avoid you problem, try substituting areated drinks in place of soda like coke, sprite etc. These also have a kind of soda taste but are not as harmful as getting addicted to soda.I m sure your intrest in soda will decrease gradually.

For some reason I have been eating food like it's going out of style! It's pretty crazy people ask me why I have been eating so much, but I really don't know. What can I say? I love to eat!

I do drink soda once in a while, but I am not really addicted to it. What I am addicted to is coffee. That again is caffine. I used to drink strong black coffee, then I changed to coffee with milk and sugar to make it weaker. That brings headache too some times. So, I changed to decaffinated coffee with plety of milk and sugar. That made it much better for health. Now, I drink only decafinnated coffee at home and at the coffee shops too.

If I don't get my regular caffeine fix, through sodas, diet coke to be specific. I get really really sleepy. Sleepy in a way where I catch myself dosing off even during meetings at work. Or if I'm in front of my computer monitor, my eyes just drop, dragging my head. So, I try to drin some for breakfast, some for midmorning break, and a lot at lunch just to get through!
