Howdy everyone. I'm 57 so I don't know if that qualifies me for being called a senior, but as a minister I have come across numerous people, some younger than me, that use the term "senior moment" for when they forget something.
About 2 years ago a man slightly younger than me was chatting with me and in the process he wanted to name something, but forgot. He said he had a senior moment. Well, I've been forgetting like that since I've been younger, maybe in my mid 20's. I don't attribute it to age though. I think we are just very busy at times. I remember lots of things pretty well. But if the matter is of no great consequence, it is usually just not retained.

Hi PastorP, I must say it's not an expression I hear over here at all so it can't possibly be one that is overused as it isn't used. I would imagine people use it instead of the much more fun of ' I must be losing my marbles' but maybe that was just an English one. I actually can't think of a Greek equivalent at all but then again no one would blame anything on their age over here except when many suddenly declare themselves to be 'old men' when its time to do the olive picking.Women of course just have to get on with it.

I totally agree with this one. We all forget things from time to time, and with our busy lifestyles it is bound to happen. But to blame this on something like this is in a lot of ways being a copout, and if they use something like this now as they get older and forget more it could be a major hinderance for them as well.
