I really love my mom. After my marriage, I moved out of my city and now staying away from her. She too loves me a lot and its been more than 2 years of my marriage, but she calls me almost daily. She cares for me and helps me out with all my problems. I really miss her.
What about you, where is your mom, is she staying with you or is away from you? How'z your relationship with your mom?

hello rakhii!
like you, i am also away from my mom... i am now living in a different province from them coz my husband was assigned here... i am already about 5 years away from her but i see to it that i visit them once every year during our scheduled vacation...and its just a short 1 week per year! but anyway, we make sure that we will spend that week enjoying & having fun together..catching up for the lost times...we make sure to have quality time together...
my mom & i are really close to each other and i even treated her as my very best friend...she's always there for me, always supporting, guiding & encouraging me...she's someone i can count on and i can talk ith anything without feeling scared of being judged...i trust her all my life and i see her as a blessing from God...
she's really wonderful & i love her so much and always thankful to her...same with my father, my brother & my husband!
have a good day & happy new year in advance!

Thanks for the wishes!
So you plan to visit your family in vacations. Are you working somewhere that you need to wait for vacationz coz I think your baby might not be going to school, coz s/he appears to be too small as of now. Good that you are planning vacations. I am also planning to take a few days off and visit my parents. Its been six months that I have visited them.

My relationship with my mum is quite good, though I have been staying away from my mum since I was in secondary school. I stayed in hostel and went home every weekend. Then when I went to college, I went to another city. I always tried to go back to my hometown every week or every fortnight too. Now, I am working in another city too. Sometimes my mum does come to the city I am working and stay with me for a few weeks.
I have been married for one and a half year, and now every time I go back to my hometown, I stay with my parents-in-law instead of my own parents. I always try to pay a visit to my parents and go back to my house whenever I have time.

Once we are married, it becomes a problem that our husband's family has to be prioritized before our own family. You have to stay with your in laws and just dont get much time to spend with your own family. This is life an dwe have to live with it.
Happy new year!

My mom is a little less than an hour away from me now and we go see her once or twice a week, but me and my soon to be hubby might decide to stay in florida for some of the year each year. ONe reason is because my hubby misses his dad and family and two, to study the kinds of stuff i want to study Ill probably have to be closer to the water. I want to be a marine trainer and study marine biology. But i love my mom very much and being away from her will be hard.

staying away from your family, and especially your mom is quite hard. the initial days are real pain, but, alas, we have to live with the pain. by the way, felt nice that you want to go for marine biology. I have done masters in microbiology and is very interested in it. I love studying micro-organisms, best of luck for your future. A very happy new year!

good that you are able to work in your own field of interest. I hope you are able to do whatever you want. I have left my field now because I did not get good prospects of job in my field. I had to change my field. I dont regret that, as I am still happy, but always, I want to go back to my field of interest. I really dont know whether I ll be able to do that or not.

talking to each other is not the only way to show your love for each other. in your case, you can also chat via mails and online chat if you wish. more important is love and feelings for each other as you said. you love your mom and she loves you, what else do we need in life. isnt it. thanks for sharing your life! best of luck!

I love my mom the most in this world than anything. She cares for me much more than anyone else. She is the best. I will not be able to live without her, she is with me all the time.
In future too, I will not leave her and take her with me or will prefer to live with her rather living any where else after marriage.

i feel good that you will have your mom with you forever. This cannot be the case with me as I am a girl and in our culture, a girl has to stay away from her mother after her marrage. But I never feel that my mom is away from me, coz we are in touch always through phone and frequent visits.

I suppose I have a fairly standard relationship with my mother. We're not best friends, but I know that I can rely on her should I need to. I left home at 18, like most people, and only go back occasionally, though I do usually spend Xmas there.
She tends to call me once a week, and I only really call her if there's something specific I need to ask her, or tell her. Again, I'd say that's fairly standard. We'd have nothing to say to each other if we spoke everyday!
I would never dream of telling her any real problems that I have, I have a therapist for that reason.

As I wrote, we too dont have much to talk to on a daily basis. but its her tendency to call me everyday and get updated that we are fine here. Its now become a routine for us. I have a elder sister who is staying in the same city of my mom, but my mom doesnt call her so frequently. Its the tuning between us that she calls me daily. I love that she calls me and if she doesnt some day, I become tensed as why dint she call me.

Hello,
I also love both of my parents so much... they mean everything in this world to me. However, I do stay with my parents cuz of I moved to the US since I was 16. About relationship between me and her is Ok OK... nothing much and nothing less... of course she loves me and cares about me all the time but I dont know why she always try to stay away from me. when I have problem and I need her to be my side... she always complain or blame me as well... there are a few good things that she done for me(only when she feels she likes it). I dont blame anything and I still love her and respect her as my GOD. just sometimes I just can't understand her... it is hard to explain but I used to put out discussion on christmas day about this problem.
I am happy you have a great mother that always share and care for you. you are the lucky one.

thanks for sharing your problem with us. Dont think that she doesnt understand you or something. In few relations, there are always some gaps, which are hard to be filled as we grow old. So, we should accept them as they come to us and try to be as good for the other as much as it is in our hands. You love your Mom and she'll understand you better if you explain her well your problems. Wish you luck!

My mom was staying in the next city over about 15 min away in a nursing home. Unfortunatly she's no longer with me. But I have visited her grave a few times as it hasn't fully sunk in yet since she has only passed in Sept. I would like to go again but everything is snow covered it may prove to be a challenge to find her marker.

I live with my mom and father in the same house.I am a man and it is common in our country for the sons to stay with their parents.i am no exception.About the condition of my mom,she is now at her old age,her movements reduced and suffering from diabetes.Yet her love and care for the family members is still young.

That is what you call as 'MOM'. Whatever may be the condition, age or mental stage, they are there for the children. My Grand grand nani was around 95 years old and she lost her memory. Still she could recognize her children and bless them with a hand on their head. I still admire her.

My Mom is in heaven now.
I have many many many regrets being a bad daughter.
I didnt took a lot of effort to make her feel i appreciate her.
She is the best Mom i can ever have, but i always overlooked it.
And when she was gone, its the only time i realized the mistakes i did and its
too late.
I miss her so much :(

I understand that, in many relationships, we do not understand the importance till we have them in our hands. but as they move out of our hands, we realize the importance of that relationship and the person in our life. Now that you understand your mom and feel her importance, your mom will be happy and blessing you.
A very happy new year!

when we have our own child, we realize the importance of love from the kids. We take the love of our parents for granted, but when it is followed by our kids as well, then we understand that pain.
My baby is just 10 months old right now, but I can realize the pain if she doesnt listen to me and does something which i will not like.
I hope that my baby is good child as I was of my MOM. lol

ya, your mom has a great role in your life. She is the only one who contributes the most. She is the sacrifizer for you and she is the one who moulds us to the best. God has made MOM coz he cannot come himself on Earth for everyone. Thank you GOD. Thanks for the comment!
