are you a sheep or a goat?

some people certainly act more like sheep - they see a certain set of attitudes, like a couple, and then decide to follow the herd by agreeing with the full set and never questioning them at all.
others somehow manage to actually think about things before deciding on their opinion, they may also be able to actually revise assumptions.
most people think they are the latter but are closer to the former, so being as honest as you can about yourself are you a metephorical sheep or a goat?

I am a cross between the sheep and the goat. I prefer to have a passive voice like the sheep and follow the flow, but when I get angry, I'll use the goat approach. I do have an active voice deep within me, but I love to play it down and being the sheep is kind of cool too, lol...

Definately a goat because I can't swim
so I prefer to stay out of the herd.
What the name for a flock of goats?

Never seen more than three at a time here - would that count as a herd?

hi jb ye blue bunny even by dawns early light I am just metaphorically a goat, I like to make up my own mind, not
just follow blindly and decide whether or not I believe
in this or that. Sometimes I do change my mind but not
because I want to follow other p eople but because I
have figured out for myself this is my best path to
take for me.6;1 am here in dark yet california have to
go down to 7 am breakfast thats not really served until at least half past or later,to sit glassy eyed staring at other people
who would rather be in bed asleep.

jb, am more of a metephorical goat rather than sheep, cause i am more independent in thinking. if you were a sheep, you follow to the point of putting blinders or not questioning the decision of a group.
happy new year to you.

Of the two, I generally tend to behave more like a goat, not caring what "the people do", not doing stuff just because "everybody does that" if I don't like it or if it doesn't serve me in any way.
So, yes, generally, I'm a goat. When I'm not an a s s, that is (sorry about the spacing, going around the silly censorship).

Well, little blue bunny, if those are my only two choices I would have to say that I'm a goat but aaaactually, I'm the guard dog who hangs out with the goats. Not only do I think for myself...I also bark and have been known to bite.

A raging rampant billy goat, with a not so well hidden (affectionate) contempt for most sheep. Of course, like a lot of such goats, my opinions have changed over the decades, but not the fact that I'm right.
Funny thing is, as I approach the Golden years (why golden? I would have thought more the Silver years), I find myself being sometimes a little sheepish.

with the right dye your years can be golden too and you will no longer look like a pint of guinness. silly possibly... anyway i would agree that you are a billy goat - i don't know if you are always right. have you disagreed with me on anything? if so you are not always right because i am.

Do you really need to ask? Why is this in politics instead of sheep or goats. Mind you a little birdy tells me its becoming much more agreeable in politics these days.

It's entirely too peaceful in politics these days. A dog needs to bark and growl once in a while...or chew on someone's leg.

politics is very peaceful at the moment. the first page of discussions has stayed almost the same for days. and i think there are only three discussions about obama on it, one about healthcare, and one about palindromes. now thea my dear have you been lucifering up my tags again?

I never thought of myself as a goat (although I have been called that, among other things) but if the only choices are sheep or goat, then I am a goat. The sheep mentality seems to be more widespread. Like when all but a couple of self-styled financial experts were telling us everything was good. There were a couple who said huge problems were looming because of shaky mortgages and the way the big banks were swapping paper without any idea what any of it was worth, but they were ignored or laughed at by the "experts".

I think I am A goat, I try to go my on way.
I try to do what I think is right no matter
what. I think things out and try to make the
best decisions, I can make.

Hi, jb78000. I am a goat. It is quite obvious. I have always been known to not just take one persons word for it. I like to to think about things before deciding the opinion.. I can't just agree with the full set and never question it. If something sounds or seems vague, I will not just take one persons word for it. I will revise assumptions.

Hi jb,
Good discusion.
To be honest, I think i am a meaphoical a goat in nature. But i want to be a metaphorical sheep and become more and more sheep-like.
I am characteristic person and i always have my personal opinion or viewpoint, and of course i am not a good team cooperator. This character is also not very suitable for leadership. I want some changes and are making them. I make those changes for good living and good adaptation on society.

Metaphorically speaking, I would tend to be a goat. I'm pretty much a loner and normally espouse a minority opinion on just about everything. I have never been a joiner, and like to do my own thinking. I am not easily dissuaded from what I believe, am not subject to peer pressure, and don't care about popularity or "political correctness" (a ridiculous misnomer, at best).
Parenthetically, God designed us to be HIS sheep and to hear and follow His voice, so he may lovingly tend to and protect us. So, I guess it's a matter of which herd you care to join.

hi epicure - you are the first person to suggest that we behave differently in different areas of our lives (e.g. the spiritual, the political and the social), interesting answer. now i am going to be slight provocative here but you do know that your attitude to 'political correctness' (which i tend to agree with btw) is part of a set, and i think you also agree with most of the rest of this set? and no i am NOT saying you are not a goat - just asking a question...
