could people really earn in this site?

I'm new to this thingy and i question its credibility. I've tried many online income opportunity but i didn't receive any amount in my paypal or alertpay. Most of it were PTC sites. I"m tired of clicking ads and its so hard to get referrals even my friends aren't interested so how much more to those people online out there. geeez
