Are Facebook Games Too Expensive?

Since I've finally succumbed to the lure of the many games on Facebook I believe that they could become quite expensive - if you are so inclined. I enjoy these games very much, but you have to purchase things on most all of them, and I don't feel that they have enough ways to earn the coins or dollars. If you play these games on Facebook, what are your views on this subject? I'm still pretty new at it, but I don't see how you can really go very far without shelling out some cold hard cash.

hello worldwise, Happy New Year...
You need patience in playing the games so and lots of connections (meaning friends who will be your neighbor) so that you won't have to shell out real cash. You get a game cash when you level up.. that is where patience comes in. You lots of friends who are willing to play the game and be your neighbor. That done, you need to have a good communication with them so that you can ask them what gift to give you. As for the special items... mustn't crave something that is seasonal, they pass by after the season (christmas, valentine, new year, thanksgiving, etc). It would be nice to just be satisfied with the gifts you can ask from your friends.
But mind you... I sure was tempted before to buy into the game cash things... i just reason to myself, I won't be able to get it back as hard cash or it won't come back double what I paid.
*sigh* maybe when I get to be rich enough to spend money without thinking it could have been used to other things in real life.

I've learned, rosapai, that I get a nice feeling of satisfaction as I progress from level to level.Happily, I have been able to add a few friends over the past few days, and it is adding to my pleasure of playing the games.

hehehehe... I remember when I was new in Farmville... I would ask almost anybody to be my neighbor. Then I would be able to to expand my farm. It does not matter whether they use the application or not I NEED NEIGHBORS. :D Luckily, some of them got addicted to the game too. But as the number of neighbors grew, I feel sad sometimes that I am not able to send them all gifts and then it becomes a chore visiting their farm.

actually you dont have to buy anything on the game if your eager enough to play clean buying stuffs for the game is a simple and clean way of cheating "that's what i think" so for me i play games and fulfill everything without buying game-coins or cash so there's the extra fun right

Hi miuneek: I agree with you when you consider it as a clean cheating, it's the same as paying someone else to play the game for your, i think. If you want to make things easier you don't have to play the game. For me, what makes a game interesting is that you have to fight, to passed days exploring every option until you gro a level or be a better a player, the rest is just cheating. Thanks for your answer miuneek. Hope you are having a nice day. Merry Christmas/ happy Holidays and Happy New Year. Take Care.

I'm not really sure. I am joined with Facebook but I hardly ever go there. I do not play the games there either. I actually did not know they had games to play. My daughter knows more about it so maybe she can answer this for you. I will send it to her.

I have been a member of Facebook for quite sometime, myself, stephcjh, and was clueless about the games. I learned of them several months ago, but my first attempt at playing one did not work out well. I recently decided to try them again(after a member here posted about how much fun she was having), and I found that they have a lot of games and it's just a matter of finding the ones you like and enjoy. Now I have two absolute favorites and about 4 more that are quickly growing on me.

The only people willing to spend cold hard cash on any of those Facebook games are those obsessed ones. I think a lot of other online games do that, either with that are those game cards. But you don't have to waste your own money to enjoy some of those games. I know I don't. I'm not desperate enough to have some of those unique things. I'm only playing those games for fun, putting real money into the equation is taking the fun out of it. I guess the best way is to get more friends who play whatever it is you're playing and have them send you gifts. You can then sell those and get some coins or something.

I have learned just how important it is to have friends , saiz! It is very nice to both give and receive gifts on the games - and to know that you have a support system.

Hi world wise: I enjoy playing some of the facebook games but i have never thought about paying for them because it's not something that I would love to do, i am a nerd ok but i am not obsessed to game at this point. Games are made to prove your abilities and there is no good on using your cash to obtein things, so basically i won't pay for a facebook game. Thanks for asking me this question. Hope you are having a nice day. Merry Christmas/ happy Holidays and Happy New Year. Take Care.

I guess it's like the old saying, starsailover, things have more value when you earn them.

Hye worldwise1,
I love to play FB's game and i can deny that some of the game is really expensive. I don't want to name names but there are some of the game where you levelling up will became very hard and require a lot of time to achieve (except if you purchase this and that via visa and so on). It is ridiculous!
But some of the game here is very interesting, although it does provide user with the purchase-this-with-real-money-and-you-get-that kind of stuff, still it only serve as an alternative and user can choose to advance in that particular game without having to use their credit cards. LOL!

That's it exactly, introvertedzed! You do have the choice as to buy extra coins and cash or simply use your own skills in the games.

I don't purchase anything. I have farms, a cafe, and an aquarium. If you want to know how to work them, send me a pm.

Thanks Elusive. I've been trying to find some friends on there because I understand that you can help each other out in advancing in your games.

There is no way I am shelling out any money on Facebook for games on there . I have tried playing one game on there but I can't get really to into it. That sounds terrible to have to pay money for games on a free site.I have a few friends that have invited me to play games on there.

You really don't need to spend money on any of the games, Shaun, but I was curious as to whether or not anyone did. I have found a couple of games on there that I just couldn't get into either, but now I have settled on the ones that I like most. They are a delightful way to waste time!

No it isn't. I am addicted to facebook games but I have never spent any money on it. I think you can still play well without those new items, specially the seasonal items, because after a few weeks, there'll be something new, and something better.
Just think of it this way, it'll be more challenging if you reach a high level without shelling out anything.

Only people who want to be the very best buy all the extra stuff, and often they are disappointed with what they buy, no matter how hard they try someone will always be better.
As far me I bought stuff before just not worth it, if you wanna get things just do some surveys.

I agree with you, solared. If you just keep at it you can earn enough coins to get the things you want. I've even managed to redecorate one of my pets homes when I tired of the decor.

I don't usually buy games like that. they take up too much room on your computer and could cause some serious damage. I would like to do stuff like that but my computer is my money maker for right now.

Hello. My name is Vlada. I also play some games on Facebook. But I never pay real money. I don't think its so necessary. Well sure, if you want to level up faster or get some extra stuff, you can pay real money, but I don't see any sense in paying real money for virtual things. I play these game to relax, but to spend what I've earned. Right now I'm addicted to the game Friend Them All. There you fight with other players, create your fight club and get your portion of joy and fun. In this game I haven't seen any "buy this or pay for that". the game is free. You just play and don't pay for anything.
