How close can I get?

I took a shot of my cat Harmony, while she was sitting on my lap... a distance of about a foot, I guess. It came out clearer than I thought it would. Unfortunately, because it was so close, she came out too orangey (she's actually more grey) but I like it anyway.

Oh, she is that, and she knows it, too. Thanks for your response.

She is a cute kitty! We have lots of photos of our new kitten and we seem not to be able to stop ourselves! I have a Pentax Optio and it’s a great little camera and I love it. Isn’t it great not to have to take film in for processing? I love being able to film as well as take still images and I have plenty of cat footage. Harmony is a beauty and very photogenic!

How long have you had your Pentax? Although I know a lot about photography using a film camera, these digitals have all sort of settings I have to learn about. Can you tell me why the internal memory was "full" after taking only two shots? Even my super cheapie no-screen no-flash no-card one will hold 28 shots.

I've had my Pentax for about a year. Mine has a SD card in it and that is where the photos are stored. I got my camera as a gift and it came with 1GB memory card but I changed it to 2GB and I can store more photos and get over an hour and a half video footage. Does yours have a memory card?

When you said you took a "Shot" at your cat, I thought you meant something horrible, thank god it wasn't what I was thinking.

Well, if you want to take some good close-up photo of your pet or something else, you must find a camera with highest macro- mine is with 1cm. macro!

Harmony is very cute... The yellowish of the picture is related to light, the blur is related to camera close to the object.
You can get very close with some lenses...but who is ready when our pet makes cute pose...

The orange is usually from using an incandescent type light bulb to light the room. Your Harmony is beautiful in any color. I could just kiss her all over.

Hey Barbara! I think Harmony is adorable! I can't wait until
I learn how to post my kitty pictures! My cat Star loves to
sit in my lap, especially when I'm mylotting! Sometimes he
reaches out and puts his paw on my hand that is on the mouse!
He is such a smart azz!
