i belong to a freecycle chapter in my neck of the woods and i have to laugh when i see the things that people want. (freecyle is a group that helps people get rid of things for others to come and pick up for free.)
one, the other day was wanting a cell phone (seriously, who would give away a cell phone!? unless it was dead!)
today, someone wanted computer paper (its called a store!) seriously, do you find that some of the requests are sort of outragous or is it just me?

Just as long as somebody doesn't want a wife, let the trading continue!

For me I'm constantly on craigslist and it upsets me that things like free formula that I would love to give away to needy mothers since my sister gets a ton of enamfil or however you spell it for free in the mail while she uses similac and its mothers of families that can afford it that still try to get it.
If its free, people that really can't afford something should be the ones that get it.

Yes I am a member of freecycle, as well. Unfortunately due to the stupid requested I shut it off from sending me emails. Some people were requesting a car, furniture, washier / drier. Obviously I think they wanted these items used, but just to request them all at once I thought was stupid. Moreover, I don't think people would be giving theirs up unless they had some serious problems.
I think it's a good idea, but I think some people get greedy or act like they can get everything for free (they can't). I'm sure if people want to fix stuff from the freecycle they could do that.

cher hi I thought the whole idea of freecycle was to help people get the unusual things they are looking for, what may seen silly or unreasonable to one person may not seem silly to the one wanting it. not everyone is loaded with money this day and age and a lot of people need to get whatever they can free. I would
not begrudge anyone anything they asked for. it is their business anyway. cell phones for example can be pretty expensive,as I say a lot of us are not well off at all.

Hi
I belong to Freecycle too.I laugh st soem requests too.I have come across some requests whhich are very silly too.Like someone asking for a working washing machine .Why would anyone give a working washing machine unless that person is very generous.
Also things like working power saw, gardening tools, hedge trimmer
