Pet Peeves

I don't have a lot of of pet peeves, but the ones I do have are in regards to spelling, grammar and the English language in general! I'm a professional writer so I guess this has something to do with the way I feel. In the past few years, the things I've found that bother me the most are the uses of "a lot" as one word...or ALOT...(it just killed me to type that LOL)....a lot is NOT one word and I don't know when people started to use it as one word, but it's just so annoying! The other thing that bothers me, is the use of the word...(kills me to type this one too)...AWESOME!!! I mean come on people...stop overusing this word...find another word to express your feelings...everything is awesome, awesome awesome and it just annoys the ***** out of me!!!! Ok I feel better now...and I guess my question is...what is your pet peeve and do you agree with the overuse of the word "awesome" and does it bother you when people make one word out of " a lot"?

I am only bothered by one word, and that's "anyways." Anyway is always singular no matter what! I don't know why this one word should bother me so much. Anyway it's no skin off me if people want to say Anyways. (But I hate to see it!)

OHHHHH YES!!!! I had forgotten about that one! But yes...that's extremely annoying! I hear people say that all the time and I just want to tell them..."that's NOT a word and it makes NO sense". I've even heard it used on TV programs numerous times and it makes me want to scream!!!

Lets just relax, secure in the thought that those who use "Anyways," don't know any better. I've gotten over it all ready!
