Sperm Bank

Most of us have heard of sperm banks where frozen sperms are stored and in some banks they are categorised as sperms belonging to celebrities, intellectuals, good lookers and so on. Anyone opting for a category would better know that a child need not have the traits of the donor. We all know even siblings born to the same parents are so different traitwise. Is it not folly therefore to categorise sperms? Is it also right to know who the donor is in the interest of the child?
What would you do?

In my opinion, having the right to know about the sperm donor is proper for any couple to know the background of the said traits and at least give them the peace of mind.
Since it is a sperm bank, although confidential. The right to know is also an ethical solution for people who decided to have that service.
The child to know the donor, I think should have the proper right time for in effect may give confusion and emotional set back for him. The couple will take the necessary approach and decisions for that matter.
I believe that for some, it may offend the people or persons who knew about that but if it was explained in good intention and time, then I guess there will be no problem at all. Guided by moral support and proper communication.

in my opinion, purpose of the sperm bank same as increase activity of adultery. This is a great sin because it puts a man's sperm in the uterus of women who are not spouses him.

I don't think the name of the donor should be mentioned unless the donor says it is fine. The thing is once you start letting names out people might start asking for child support etc.
It gets to be risky and the reason people normally donate to the sperm bank is for money, they don't want to be involved in anyone's life so I don't see why it would be great to have names be brought up.
And the only reason to categorize a sperm is because they feel its better to make money off of them. Now I understand things like hair color, etc. but things like being smart or not or being a celebrity doesn't matter.

I think only the child should be able to know who the donor is, not even the mother. When the child turns 18.
