I can't actually say for sure which one is the best software to download stuffs from the internet... i haven't use many to be able to compare... mostly i use download accelerator and it's good... i'm not sure about the acceleration capacity, but such software helps you continue broken downloads from where it got broken... for downloads using the normal browsers, it's not possible... if you like to download torrent files, you may use bitTorrent or uTorrent as someone suggested in a previous response... thanks, happy myLotting and happy new year...

For the vast majority of downloads, you don't need any software. Most browsers can cope with suspended downloads and 'download accelerators' cannot actually download any faster than the speed of your connection (and the speed of the server) allows.
