Why my ranking point didn't reduce with the removal of my discussion?

I started a discussion with the subject "How to add an image in a response?" about two hours back... now i find, the discussion has been removed... i don't know why? i've seen many discussions on subjects which can most likely be found in FAQs or in the guidelines... can my discussion be removed for this reason? however, with the removal of my discussion, my ranking point didn't come down... can you explain why?
