Do you have any Pets in your home? Are they just pets, friends or like family ?

Do you have any Pets of any kind in your home? We have 2 cats and I am curious to know if others feel as I do that they are part of the family. So if you have a pet, do you think of them as a Pet, more of a Friend to you or are they like a Family Member? I've met some folks who feel as I do and others that feel pets are nice to have but not all that special like family is. I can easily say that if our home was on fire, I'd save my human family members first but then immediately do everything possible to get my furry kitty family members out safely! Our girls are spoiled rotten but ya know what? They spoil us too, they know when I have has a bad day and give lots of extra love and attention. And even tho I have only had them for about 3 years each, I know the different meows mean different things so they have tried to communicate with me, just like I have trained them to obey. And boy do they ever love to play fetch! How about you?
