During the summer we cut it about once every two or three weeks, it grows very fast, and if we don't keep it cut regularly, we'll have nothing but tall weeds growing up in the yard. Of course, right now since its winter we don't have to cut it at all, because its covered with snow and ice..haha. If we just cut our grass once a month, you wouldn't be able to see the house..haha.

Good morning Ronnyb, I don't cut mine, have to hire it down. Of course since it is winter here we don't have to have it cut at all but in the summer it has to be cut every week. I have to pay the man $20 a week to do that so i'm getting a break right now.

I don't think $10 is bad at all.can't believe u just have to have it done once a month. Mine would look like a jungle if i waited a month.

We used to cut our lawns once a fortnight during the summer months, but this year it was every week,so much rain and it was warm as well.like a great big greenhouse. The garden flowers were also blooming well into november ,they used to die off at the beginning of october, everything is out of kilter with the seasons over the last couple of years.

Hi ronny
Its funny you should ask cause we just got done cutting ours this morning. Its not too hot out this morning and not at all humid so we got out early and got it done. Here in South Florida, twice a month is necessary. During the rainy season, which is all summer long, it really needs it once a week, but nobody in their right mind does that. Every other week is bad enough and thats what we do. We have another piece of property out in Western Ft Lauderdale where we lease 7.5 acres as we have two horses. The horses do the mowing thank the good Lord and what I do is move them around from pasture to pasture to try to keep it even. You'd be amazed at how fast and evenly they chomp it down!! Its funny cause my neighbor out there does not have horses, just a lovely home, and she will often ask me if she can rent out the horses for a couple of days...not to ride...but to cut her grass..I always let her borrow them and with the exception of a close up job around her walk ways etc, she only has to use her weed eater to tidy it up!! Plus there is no clean up as the mess is in their tummys!! My husband would love to expand this business but can you imagine trying to get permits for that? The best part would be the looks on peoples faces when we pulled up and unloaded horses into various yards!! It would be great but the City of Ft Lauderdale would never allow it!! Oh well, good idea though huh?? Happy New Year...J

Wow lol, thank you for your answer .It was really informative ,I wouldnt have dreamed that lawns could grow that fast .I also liked what you say about your horses and believe me it might turn out to be a good business "green lawn mowers" and that is where everyone is going anyway .Have a great year

Hi,
I had a beautiful lawn previously with good crotons and flower plants.Recently a few months back we brought a labrador. The rate of its growth was directly proportional to the rate of destruction of my lawn. The cute puppy used to play with the plants and dig them up.So i have given up the idea of cutting my lawn which in another few months might turn into a barren land.
