Who's cooking right now?

It's just a few minutes before new year here in the Philippines, I wonder who are still cooking and preparing food at this moment..? hmm..definitely not me..haha! just finished setting up the table while my mom and dad are still fast asleep... haha! Hmm..Im smelling the food and is really excited to eat! =) what's in your table for this new year? happy new year friends! =)

We are having a pot luck celebration this evening which means each guest brings something to share, so I am not sure what all we will have. I think I am going to make bacon wrapped stuffed Jalepenos. I am sure we will have some nice interesting things to eat from what people bring.

My husband's family is German. The traditional New Year's dish is pork roast and saurkraut, and it is almost done. They also keep silver coins for New Year's. The tradition is to hide the coins outside and tell no one - not even family. The next day you collect them. We have two old coins, vintage 1860's, that we use. Supposedly you will never run out of money if you do this. Can't say it works - we've never been destitute but we often don't have enough! That's OK, though.
