What are your plans for New Year's Eve?

We will be staying home. It is our daughter's 13th birthday so we are usually low key. We are going out to dinner to celebrate all the birthday's that were celebrating this week (husband, brother-in-law and daughter). My husband is 1/2 Japanese so we usually go eat Japanese to start the new year. We are going to be trying Kobe for the first time. We did wake up to a winter wonderland but it is suppose to turn to rain. I hope not because it is just enough to make everything look pretty without causing any headaches. Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you too! My husband and I will just sitting at home. Either watching a movie or we may possibly go out and buy a Wii today. Not sure. We have 2 little ones that like to get up at 6am. So, my guess is, we will sleep in the new year! Have fun at your Japanese restaurant! I'm so jealous!

Oh I remember the days of the girls waking up so early. My oldest one we have to yanked out of bed, my youngest one (8) will wake up later if she goes to bed late. The restaurant will be our last splurge for a while - it seems like we have eaten out more these past two weeks with everyone on vacation. You will love the Wii!!! I hope you get it!

I looke forward to those days of sleeping in. I had a glimpse into the teenage years with our 4 year old the last week. He's a nightowl, and very grumpy when woken up. But the 18 monther goes to bed around 7 some nights. And is an early riser. Ugh...I hope they even out someday!

My oldest has never been a good sleeper and now she is a night owl. Now I know what my mom went through with my brother. My 8 year old use to be such a great one to go to sleep but we are having major tummy issues that we are trying to work through, so she can get a bit cranky!

I'm headed to a friend's house. We intend to drink and play games until the ball drops, then commence once the excitement is over...lol....not too exciting, but a darn good way to ring in another year as far as I'm concerned :)

Thanks! PF Changs is always busy. This is the 3rd city we lived in where there was one and they are busy at lunch and dinner. They do have an online reservation system, so you can make reservations. They even send out a confirmation email with a reservation number.

We started a tradition of doing Chinese the night before Thanksgiving, this past year. Gives me a break before I have to start cooking the turkey. We have a PF Changs but it is still too knew so the line is so long we haven't been in it yet. Enjoy your trip to San Francisco, this is one of the cities I would love to visit one day. Thanks for the response.

Hi kimbers867, It is New Year's Eve now in the part of the world where I live and here I am on MyLot. I go out each year but this time I decided to stay home. After all, one must also know how the New Year looks like from your own home right! My New Year celebration with my family is on Jan 1 this time, when I go out in the evening to a restaurant of my family's choice. Kobe is an excellent place to try for you, I have been to one - in a Japanese dinner I would never miss out on sushi and saki. I like all kinds of cuisine and one of my top favorites is Japanese. Other favorites are Italian and Schezwan Chinese, and one dish that is an all-time favorite with is Nasi Goreng from Indonesia. Wish you a Super New 2010 and my best wishes on your daughter's 13th birthday!

Thanks Emvy! In my younger days I always went out and celebrated New Year's Eve, one time my brother wanted me to go to Times Square (New York City) with him and I said no way too too many people. Once my husband and I got together we started just going out to dinner alone or with friends. Once the kids came along we started spending them at home. I can still remember being pregnant with my oldest and telling my mom not to make plans or buy a new dress for New Year's because I had a funny feeling. Well, I was right - April was born at 8:47 p.m. We were waiting to move into our room and I heard the nurses toasting the New Year. Around 2 a.m. I finally got a Tuna sandwich for my dinner, LOL. I usually get dinners from the hibachi grill while my husband and oldest daughter go for the sushi. I hope you have a wonderful 2010! And thanks for the friend request!

I really did not have any plans for New Years Eve. We took down the Christmas decorations in the house though. We also had a couple of drinks, ate and went to bed because we worked the night before. I got up later and worked also since we work nights.
