Once in a blue moon

Liz called this mornin' from the place she's pet-sitting to inform me that today is a novelty day. Not only is it the last day of a peculiar year..It is also a blue moon. For those who don't know, a blue moon is when the full moon falls twice in a single month. I don't know the statistics but its rare enough to make an adage about.
Liz did say that such occurs on new years once every 19 years..hmm..And being as its new year's eve and all, throw in a phenomenom full moon and downtown Atlanta, where I work, will be a wee(?) bit strange. Luckily when I'm heading home an interesting(odd) assortment of folks will be waiting for the peach to drop and forgetting that the economy sux, as well as other much talked about aspects of this past year, in childlike anticipation of something, albeit nonessential, quite enjoyable..And then there's the fireworks that welcome the new year with the dreams and hpoes of the crowd riding its shirttail..to the inevitable hangover of the new day..
As I said, I'll be working. What are you figuring on doing this evening?

i have no idea of a full moon falls twice in a single night. but the phrase "once in a moon" has a special meaning in chinese------ there's a good oppotunity which is hard to have. anyway liz says it's a special night, maybe it's special.
but i slept very early last night and i didn't see the moon.

Hiya greenfeathers,
I have been watching the Full Moon in it´s full glory really high in the sky. I know a bit about the Blue Moon but not that much the old usual stuff.
What I do know is that she has had a special radiance for the past full Moons like a sort of rainbowish tinge to it an aura if you like.
This Full Moon has been joined by very clear skies so much that the few clouds looked like they were brilliant and snowy white special magic. Also the Stars seemed to have a special glitter more than usual.

Hi greenfeathers! Wow! A blue moon! How cool is that! I don't
think we could see it even if it was full! Our weather seems
to not be cooperating for this New Year's Eve! It decided to
snow without telling those stupid "weather people"! We woke up
to some snow that wasn't even predicted! Duh? It was only
about 2 inches, but we had no clue it was going to snow at all!
Now we are going to maybe get another 3 inches! I don't care
since I'm not stupid enough to go out on New Year's Eve! I
will watch the "Ball" drop in Times Square (you got a peach)!
I am going into the next year with the same crap that I have
leftover so what can I say? Happy New Year to you anyway
greenfeathers!

i thought it is "blue" moon...moon that is blue...then i only realize it meant the second full moon in a month! i guess sine our calendar is based mainly on the sun, it made sense that the event happened relating to moon from our calendar will be rare...!
