Have you read the novel by Richard Matheson? Which I Am Legend movie adaptation is your favorite?
I loved the novel. Finished it in one day and end up wanting more. My favorite movie adaptation is the one with Will Smith.
The Last Man On Earth (1964)
This movie with Vincent Price is the closest one to the novel. The infected were actually vampires, complete with weakness to garlic and fear of mirrors (like in the book). The movie had some disturbing bits like when military took his daughter to throw her in the burning pit. They did it to all the people that were infected.
7/10
The Omega Man (1971)
I thought the whole new society of infected made very little sense. They were more like some crazy religious group than vampires. I couldn't stop laughing at the ending when the leader of infected randomly throws spear from the balcony killing Neville. wtf
5/10
I Am Legend (2007)
Aside from terrible CGI monsters, this movie was great. At least first until the other survivors showed up. The "vampires" where pretty scary and dangerous compared to the ones in I Am Legend movies that can be beaten by fists. Also will Smith's acting was great.
7.5/10
I Am Omega (2007)
arrrrhhh Mark Dacascos fighting zombies with nunchaku and karate kicks. It wasn't really based on the novel, more like it was released just to capitalize on Will Smith's movie. But it wasn't that bad. There are some fun parts.
3/10
Which one is your favorite?

Hi Bionicman, How you doing.
I have not read the novel, it is one I must get a hold of and have a read. I have seen all the movie versions of it though.
My favorite has to be The Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price as he is one of my all time favorite classic horror actors. Then followed by the Will Smith one, then the Omega Man (I thought Carlton Heston was great in it) My favorite part in that movie was when the infected threw the spear but I will give you that, it was funny. I think that scene stands out for me as it was one of the first films I seen when I was younger, that the lead get killed. As for I am Omega, the less said the better.
I am Omega was produced by The Asylum film company and they specialise in producing movies to cash in on big Hollywood releases, their films have been dubbed "Mockbusters"
Check out the list here, Some of them are just so funny.

And whatever you do, Have a Happy New Year my friend

Happy New Year
oh, I know about the mockbusters
I have never seen anything from The Asylum except I Am Omega but "Alien vs Hunter" and "Snakes On Train" sound very tempting
Anyway, I Am Omega had some potential to be good b movie. The effects were decent, zombies looked good and Marc Dacascos wasn't bad either. Retarded script full of holes and supporting actors ruined it. And from I read this is the best Asylum flick so far and shouldn't be even compared to other ones lol

how about this:
Original title:
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Mockbusters title:
Journey To The Center Of The Earth
Just put some capital letters and that's it. haha they're crazy
Wonder how many people fell for that
or in the new Princess of Mars trailer they say "inspiration for James Cameron's Avatar" haha

You have to give the guys at The Asylum credit for having the balls to do what they do, even for the titles alone.
I have seen many of their movies as they show them on Zone Horror a lot of the time. The war of the worlds one they did was not that bad but had some really crappy CGI.
I am Omega did have some promise, I watched it when it was on just because of Marc Dacascos name alone but you are right the script let it down. I do think some of their movies have the so bad they are good factor, that and ripping off the real blockbusters. I just wonder how many lawsuits they get against them
I would say that Snakes on A train has to be one of the best titles they came up with. I have not seen it but I doubt it will have Samuel L Jackson in it lol.

I've read the first few chapters of the novel, but didn't get to finish it. Hubby was reading it too, and I'm not even sure what he did with the book or I'd pick it up again.
I've not seen many adaptations, but the favorite one that I did see was I Am Legend with Will Smith in it. I loved his acting in the movie, and his interactions with his mannequin "friends"

You should at least watch The Last man On Earth with Vincent Price. If you like zombie movies, you'll love it.
