I'm at work right now and I've been noticing this pattern with people. Ever since the big Swine Flu Scare, people have started using their OWN pens, pulled out from their pockets, purses, or suit jackets - to sign their credit card receipts with, rather than use our store-provided ones. I thought this was the most clever thing ever!
What do you do specifically to avoid touching other peoples' germs?
Or what have you seen others do?

I'm interesting about this, may be even a bit fickle. I can't stand germy things like folks not washing their hands or gooey messes. On the other hand my room is an explosion of catastrophy. I think using your own pens is smart yes but practicing personal hygenie is prevention enough in my opinion. My ideas might seem a bit lax, but they seem to get the job done. I don't get sick very often and I'm in the best physical shape of my life. Just my take on the whole issue.

It is the hands that spread the germs and so washing hands each time you handle food or are in the kitichen is the only way one can keep away germs apart from ofcourse using disinfectants around the house, not letting stagnant water anywhere even vases that have water needs to be changed often.

I haven't been doing much of anything different. I no longer carry a pen since I lost one a long time ago that had sentimental value. I am mainly hoping that my really strong immune system that has served me so well all my life will continue to do so. I do wash my hands when I get home, etc. but I'm not overly cautious when I am out. I have never had the flu and don't get colds, so I guess I have gotten used to not worrying about it so much.
