Have you tried Affiliate Marketing?

I have received a lot of propositions from different Affiliate Marketing Companies to sign up to their business and be an Affiliate Marketer, however, I'm quite skeptic about it.
Most of them offer a money back guarantee in like 2 or 3 months if you don't make an income through their business. Some even claim that their clients are those fortune internet companies. Some claims that you'll make good amount of money that you could probably even quit your full-time job.
As far as I understand, as an affiliate marketer you basically act as an advertiser for their clients and sell their products or services to people that you have connections to. It's like advertising through networking in hopes that these clients get more people to buy their product. Through that you earn a commission.
Has anyone here tried this? Are there claims really true? Has anyone here really made a fortune as an affiliate marketer?

I have joined a few too. They are quite legitimate and working worldwide. I tried the businesses, but not very successful as anticipated. I did receive some commissions, but not really much. May be because I lack the experience. I am a beginner in developing websites and promoting banners on the website. I need some more time to gain experience !

But aren't these affiliate marketing business promoting that they would help you build your website as well? They should have support to help you out. As far as I've heard that's what they usually say. Were you able to at least earn back what you've invested to it?

I'm a full time affiliate marketer and I started exactly where you are. Asking questions like these.
Affiliate marketing does work but be careful where you get your information. A membership site like the one in my profile can really help you as this is the site that I credit my success to. I'm still a member after signing up with them 3 years ago.
