first day of new year....has my dog passed away?

it's first year of new year! her name is autumn, and she was out in the afternoon...but when she was back late in the afternoon...she looks like she had a foods poisoning, vomiting everywhere....and having diarrhea...by the time we are ready to take her to doc, she was gone...we searched everywhere...but cannot find her, we were told a nice dog doesn't die at home...the dog will move away from where the dog belongs and passed away there..!!
is it true? then is it true my dog has passed away?

animals sometimes will go off by themselves when they're very sick or dying.
she does sound extremely ill,like maybe she got into some car fluids.
they do not always die from poisoning,but she most likely will hide somewhere til she recovers if she recovers.if you do find her and she is alive,be careful.
ill animals have been known to snap at you if they want to be left alone.
