I'm in love with window 7 and couldnt go back to vista or xp anymore :)) you can find the advantages of window 7 all over the internet, but for me, I just love the way it make me feel. Such as you can set your background on a slide show of all the picture you like, or you can change the "theme" of your computer with any color you want, or you can download many interesting theme, instead of boring limited stock of color for XP and Vista. A bit girly, but that's me :D

In order to determine which is better, one must look at the pros and cons of windows xp and windows 7. Windows xp is much simpler, it only take about 500mb of hard drive, and it uses very little ram. However, windows 7 is very user friendly, in many ways, it looks more like a mac than a windows, which can be good or bad depends on your preference.

Well, since you computer seems to be able to run a Vista, you might as well get Windows 7. All the issues that Vista has was said to be resolved in Windows 7. XP isn't bad as well but, if your can get Windows 7, why not?

Well let me tell you few years ago when first come out the windows xp every1 used to say the it was band and all that because i had alot of bugs and it didnt exist so many patches .. If you think windows vista is bad, windows7 its worst the only thing better its the grapichs and resolutions and some new aplications , + there alot of softwarez and aplications not comptible with it. I will recomend you to put windows XP latest version and if you like it looks like windows 7 doanload a skin of w7 and install it! Your compter will be faster and reliable.. ;] trust me!

Hi ninos112, Operating Systems are meant to make your life more easy and comfortable with the programs and softwares you use frequently. So, its important always to choose a better one. There are free softwares as well as paid ones available in market. Since your question is based on Windows, i would recommend you use Windows 7. because it has more advantages and features over Windows XP in security and enhancements. Windows 7 contains more inbuilt device support than XP, Also If you had a GPU(Graphics Processing Unit), then instead of using it only for Video rendering and gaming, Windows 7 can utilize it to maximum for computing which brings you more performance with your hardware. The new superbar introduced is very handy and useful in terms of userfriendliness. Windows XP, though with Antivirus programs are more risky to common malwars known as rootkits. These rootkits use the feature of windows autorun to spread quickly whenever you insert an infected removable media.
Windows 7 can prevent any such autorun attacks with its UAC, and privillege rights where in Windows default admin is the user with full rights. So, Windows 7 brings you more security. This doesnt mean you dont need an antivirus. You MUST use an antivirus in any system even in Linux.
If you need to run a special legacy program which only works in Windows XP, you can run it within a virtual inbuilt XP environment(This feature available only in Ultimate editions of Win7).
And, above all Windows 7 is more secure than any previous editions of Windows, and this edition of Windows can be told as the first one to gain thumbs up from critics also.
PS : if you plan to buy/use Windows 7, make sure you had atleast 1 GB of RAM in your machine. 512 MB is enough, as minimum( I'm writing this from a Win7 Ultimate machine with 512MB RAM ) but i would recommend you use 1 GB RAM and a Dual core processor.

Well, this depends. Are you accustomed to Vista? If so then yes grab windows 7. I still prefer XP over any OS or even better yet Use a Linux distribution of Linux.
