What does spirituality mean to you? Is it about religion? a chosen path? or an inner quality?

I would say definitely an inner quality. anyone can be religious. to be spiritual means having a personality that EXPLORES what they believe in, why they believe it, what other people believe and why.
a spiritual person might well change religion many times in their life, because of their seeking nature.
spirituality is not taking things just as you are told, but trying always to learn more.

being spiritual to me means believing in one God and communicating with God, but not being traditional in religious practices or being religious. Just acknowledging God's presence in my life, thanking HIM and communicating for future guidance.

That's a harder question than it sounds like. At first I'd say spirituality is being connected to God. But that can't be all since being spiritual is a continuing thing. I believe we'll be constantly changing, becoming 'better' and we should become an agent/vessel/conduit for life and love to flow through us. I've heard people who don't believe in God still talk about the connection, the unity, in all things. That IS the essence of God, is it not? So what comes after that connection for someone who believes that's experiencing God? And what comes after for someone who doesn't?

yes, yes :D it's all that
for me it means dying a better person than when i was born, to learn, to improve my heart to care more about other lives, like human, animals and the green, i even recycle and when i see trash on the streets i carry home with me because even if an a**hole don't know where trash is i want to do something daily for the world
i try to help people out, repair my flaws like sometimes i want to judge, criticize, i'm angry as hell...well, many flaws cause i'm very unperfect, that's why i'm on earth, so i think about it everyday at night and decide to change
things changed for good, i was a very coward child, i consider to be brave today not to stand up for my self only but i always stand up for others and got me in a hell of trouble everytime, i even had to leave certain jobs because of it, God always helps me, until a early teenager i used to like a guy for his look, i realized that was wrong and tried to change and i really don't care now, i think things got better and there are many 'coincidences' and 'miracles' that happened in my life, so i think this is exactly the right path to go, i won't change, it's hard and i'm tired but i know i can't live other way, i feel like i lived many lives and i done it wrong and now i might have decided to don't be in the same path anymore

Though I think that a spiritual person can be a religious person and visa versa, I dont believe that they are one in the same nor do I think they are connected..I'm a very spiritual person but NOT religious by any means in fact religion leaves a horrid taste in my mouth and is something I dont care for at all..
Being Spiritual TO ME is definately something that comes from deep within....from your soul...one cant LEARN to be spiritual from others or books or any outside source as far as I'm concerned, it comes from deep soul searching, getting to know WHO YOU ARE deep down to your core....Its from THAT journey IMO that one can become a spiritual person...Thats how it was for me..and continues to be really...I mean I did a major 2 yr soul searching journey many yrs ago but every day I still learn more about me and become more spiritual with each step if that makes sense..

Hi zarie109,Welcome to mylot! Spirituality is your relation to God. The way you served the Almighty Father in Heaven. It is the inner quality on how you follow the Commandments of God. Religion is the the way how you served God. As of now there are so many religion professing that they are the true way of serving God, but we must remember that Our Lord Christ Jesus says that many false prophets in our times. We must consider that Christ build his one and only Church but not many Churches, like in our times so many churches relaying that they are of Christ. Happy New Year!!!!!
