The year is 2010 and according to some people you will be lucky this coming year if you have 12 fruits when celebrating New Year's Eve, but some say it is 13. Did you have the 12 fruits when you celebrated New Year's Eve? Do you believe in that saying?

They say that every year but it still up to the persons in the household to take action.. Anyway, this is the only year we haven't filled the twelve fruits. We used to have even more than twelve. This time we only have kiat-kiat, apple, pear, ponkan, grapes and pomelo. Maybe that gods would understand and let 2 months each fruit. We also have coconut seedling with leaves on it. Mom cooked eggs and banana called saba. What fruits did you offer the gods on your table?

This is something new to me. Every culture has their own traditions and here we bath in lemon leaves and 7 different flowers on the eve of new year. It is supposed to wash away all evil happenings in the past year and the flowers bring us luck for the coming new year. I am not keenly following all this superstitious beliefs but did it cos mom has prepared everything and it is done out of respect for her.![](/Content/images/emotes/lol.gif)

In fact I didn't even celebrate the New year. If the number of fruits are more like 50 will be more great .. what is with 12?
I don't believe in such things.
