I am really casual, and I don't need any fancy clothing to show off anything. I could get a sweater; jean or jacket from walmart, or old navy. Not necessarily to be Levi's, Gap, or Abercrombie, or Hollister, etc..... I am comfortable with non - brand names.
In the opposite side, my cousin more into brand name clothing. He rather spend $50 to $100 for a piece of clothes that simply similar to what I got from Walmart. The only difference is that it got a pretty brand name on it. What a joke right? He kept telling me it feels different. I just don't see the point here. What about you, are you more into brand name or non - brand name?

I admit that I was like that in the past and I fancied brand a lot. Nowadays I prefer liking the item of clothing itself than liking the tag. When I buy expensive brand, I tend to buy it in second hand stores, so it ends up being a similar price to non brand items anyway.

Hello! I agree with you, and I agree with your cousin. I agree with you because I like any type of clothes brand. Most are made good. However, I have noticed some brands (for example: A&E, Rocawear, Billabong) last very good. Plus, I agree with your cousin, some of the name brand stuff feels softer or different.
However, that's not to say the non-brands aren't good. I have many non-brands stuff. I bought lots of shirts at various department stores and they've lasted for years. You really have to see what you're getting.

Well I am in agreement with you there. While someone would spend a 100 dollars on a pair of jeans like Levi's, I can take that same amount and go to store like walmart or sears if on clearance, and get three or four pairs of pants lol. My mom has said one time when she spend $40 on one shirt, it has something to do with the quality of the clothing which probably is what your cousin is getting at. I cannot wrap my head on just spending that type of money on one item. It is just like bras. If you look in lingerie department, the so called "quality" bras costs $30-$40. I did that one time just to see what my mom was saying and still didn't feel a difference. So now I am on that logic trip if I gotta spend dough on bras, I rather buy 3 or 4 at once for $30 than one for $30. The same with shirts and pants.

hi, I have just raised the similar topic the other day. Yeah, I have to say that I do. Because you know, sometimes people need to dress that way to get approach to those group of people so that we may have more in common, for business purpose. surely I don't object practical casual clothes they are cheap and durable.

I would agree with you. For attending a party, I might dress nicely rather than tacky. But one or two piece of those brand name clothing might enough for me. Not too much of them, I surely couldn't afford those clothes.

@felice: Me, too. The only time I buy branded clothes is when they're cheap or on sale. Otherwise, I don't buy them. I could buy 5 non-branded shirts at the price of just one branded shirt. But of course I do make sure that they are durable and can be worn several times before it gets totally worn-out.

Same with me, I am more into casual clothing: t-shirts, jeans, and a good pair of flip-flops. They can be found anywhere, so I really don't have to look for specialty store just to buy them. I really don't care that much about the brand of the product, but it has gotta be of high quality. There are a lot of unpopular shirts out there that are durable. So far I think most of the shirts that I have are cheap ones, but they do last. I can wear them several times and not get ripped off. I have some branded stuffs, but they were mostly gifts from other people. Just on New Year's day I bought two pairs of jeans for P100, equivalent to $2. They fit me well and I am happy that I bought them.
Some people wear branded clothes because of the "It's cool!" mentality. They feel more special when they don special, branded clothes. I think comfort and durability are the most important factors when buying clothes; none of them should be sacrificed.

True Religion Jeans...$320 Ed Hardy Designer Shirt...$120 Dolce Gabbana Sunglasses...$250 Dolce Gabbana Shoes $200 . Total Cost $890.00
That is how much I spent on myself...last year. Today, I went to Marshalls and found an amazing pair of jeans that looked and feeled just like those True Religion Jeans. Unfortunately, there was no True Religion Logo embedded on the jeans, and they only cost $10.
My surrounding environment is filled with stuck up chumps who care for only one thing; the brand. If it's not showing a logo they'd rather not buy it. Comfort is not a factor to overlook anymore when shopping for clothes. It's hilarious.

my mother buys it for everyone and she prefers branded clothes but I am different brand does not hold importance for me and I can wear any good looking cloth without the famous name tag. Actually going to save some money which would have gone on the brand.

I buy certain garments with a brand name because I don`t find what I want elsewhere. I need very good shoes because my feet ache. But in Summer I wear unexpensive flipflops. My other need are good jean up to the waist. They are more expensive than the others.

For me I dont buy brand name clothes. I just wear whatever i can find on clearence at any store. I do prefer Old Navy jeans not because of the brand name but because the way they fit. For my kids they always want certain brand name clothes. I will buy my kids the brand name clothes if i can find them clearenced for a good price. For Christmas i found good sales for kids clothes on name brand clothes....$55 sweatshirt but got it clearenced for $12.99 not a bad price.

I have no brand fancy. I go for clothes that suit me even if they are not in vogue. Comforts come first for me. But I dress well, neatly and well tailored even with patterns of my own which I sometimes see others copying!!

I do not buy brand names because of its brand name. This is because I have found that once the brand name has captured a large market, its quality goes down and prices go up. I buy products that have the features I want, that are reasonably priced for what I am getting, and I don't go in for "fluff"....which is what I call features that either don't make the product better, but are just for looks. Some women just have to have a Coach purse, for example. I don't find the quality that much better, or even if it is, who wants to carry the same purse until it wears out? Yeah, it might last for years if it is extremely well made, but usually the person gets tired of it, and all that money was for vanity. Better to put your money into quality, things that will last and not go out of style, that you like and will continue to like, and enjoy more of life with the money that is left.

sometimes I do...
yeah I know it is kind of silly!! I spend a lot more just because of the word"abercrombie" on the shirt.
but after I saw Megan Fox wearing plain and simple t-shirts,I guess I should do that too.

No. I don't go blind on brands. Some are better than the branded ones. I look for the materials used, fit and its rarity. Usually non-brand items have more and wider selection to choose from. I just get a branded and expensive item if it's really worth the buck.

I know that some people out there, including me, buy brand name clothing because of the quality materials. I know you have to pay higher prices, but if may be worth it because if you stay in shape and don't gain weight, you can wear the outfits for many years to come. Brand name clothes last longer. And you can get them for half of the price at department stores like Ross. I usually buy them only when they are on sale and have money put aside to buy anything I like.

If I know the brand is reliable or of good quality, I will feel more inclined to purchase a branded article of clothing. However, for me, the most important thing is how comfy and how smart the clothes appear, not what's written on the label inside. I hate the types of people that judge you on your clothing, and if you are wearing a brand that they do not recognize, they treat you like some sort of outcast

no never , i never buy brand name clothes because brand tag is there , no matter whether the brand is gucci or any other , even some brand clothes are worst than cheap clothes , i had bought a shirt from a brand name madame , it is a very famous brand for girls clothes but the stuff is not good , i bought 5 shirts from there and after testing the shirts the result was that the shirts are unwearable after one wash as stuff is really bad , i was really disaapointed from the brand.

I have to admit some times I will buy t-shirts just because they have a brand written across them, like hollister or guess. Usually though it's more about the look and style of the clothing, not just what brand they are. I want them to fit me good, and sometimes designer clothes don't fit the way I like them to do. I have to admit most of my closet is filled up with designer brands, but it's usually because of how well the clothes look on me, not who made it.

I seldom buy branded clothes. I like quality clothes with average price. I also like sale clothes and I'm quite good in finding them.
