How do you usually contact with your friends?

China

At the very beginning, I contact my friends per letters, everyday we post and receive... Then I used the emails to keep contact with them, which is fast and zero cost, or using the online chat tool like MSN, SKYPE, or some websites. When cellphone was available, I wrote less and less, instead, I send messages to them at any time But now, after graduation, I prefer to contact them with phone call, my work is too busy to have no time to type so many words. How do you usually contact with your friends now?

Hi luckymy2008, Happy New Year! You're right! Life becomes busier. I do greet most of friends through SMS or emails or blog messages during some big festivals, like Christmas and New Year. Other than that, I only contact a few close friends quite frequently on the phone, SMS or through blog messages. Sometimes we will meet at restuarant to eat and chat. Luckily our friendship could be maintained, though we do not see each other much. Have a nice day! agonyaunt69 (12:53am 3 Jan 2010, Hong Kong time)

Hello agonyaunt, many thanks for your response and wishes. Yes, the best friends will always keep you in heart, no matter where you are. One of my best friends lives far away from me after graduation and has her own family now, we seldom communicate now but when we chat, it seems we are back to the college times, we are so close to each other.

I used to see my friends in school all the time so I would talk to them then but we would chat on aol after school and see if one of us wanted to hang out. I still chat on aol a lot with my friends but mostly how I stay in touch with the majority of them is through facebook. It helps me socialize as well as stay in touch with friends I havent seen or talked to in a long time. Its awesome. I do email a few friends. Two friends I text to from aol to their phones because they are away from their computer but always have their phones with them to make it able to chat with them anytime. I love my friends I dont know what I would do without them.

I think when you very busy, you have a work, child or whatever it's very difficult. I have some good frends, but they have a boy- or gilfrend, child, work, and we can't keep contact very often. Usually we speak on MSN,or SkyPe. If we can, call each other, and we go drink a caffe, or we meet and make a good dinner

Is GF/BF important than friends? We also make a joke to those who take love more seriously than friendship. LOL

I think, Text messaging is like the most convenient way right now to communicate, though I'm not a big fan of celphone, as I always broke it accidentally or lost it. But I still keep one for me and I'm really trying my very best to keep it for a long time.. heheh.. Communicating with my friends actually depends on my location, If I'm at home it's either, I call them on their home phone or give them a short text before ringing them to check if they are avilable for 'lil chat. If I'm in the office, I use email to exchange message with my family and friends whose on their offices at the same time. And of course, thru Facebook, friendster or tweeter.

I must confess that you are so special, because most people nowadays are text/cellphone addicts, they will feel anxious without them. Hope you can keep your cellphone for a long time this time :)

almost all of my friends now have their own family. some moved to other countries while some stayed from where they grew up. in my case, i live with where my wife grew up.. in the province far from the city. i do have the contact number of some of my friends but to those who are abroad, i use the net with voice call. good thing about it, like ym, you can even view them and see how they have become. happy mylotting luckymy2008

Well I use different methods but usually I call. Sometimes by phone and sometimes by cellphone, sometimes even by skype or MSN. These days there are so many different way of contacting people that I prefer not spending any money if I don't have to. I admit I became too lazy to write text messages but sometimes when I see my friends are on skype or MSN I talk to them that way or we just chat instead of actually picking up the phone. I always try to save money if I can so I use alternative methods of contacting people as much as I can...alternative to phone and cell phone, I mean, of course.

E-Mail is the method I use. Most of the people I keep in touch with are online. Its quick, easy, and simple for me. I do not really care for speaking on the phone unless I have to. Therefore, e-mail is my preferred method.

well i usually text them whever i am missing them , earlier i used to use social networking sites and send them scraps and messages saying that i am missing them and all the stuff then i found it very fishy and so i started doing text messaging and it is really better because they the message immediately as mobiles are with them , what if they opened their account after one week then the message will be waste , so i prefer texting or better to call them and make some plans to roam around the city.

Yes, not everyone logs in the social networking sites everyday and personally I think such kind of sites are too public.

I usually always text with my friends, all of my friends have cell phones so we're always texting constantly. Other times we will communicate through facebook chat, or through facebook messages. Other times we will use msn messenger. If they live far away and I never get to see them we will have video chat sessions. Other times I will just call the person or they will call me.

I keep in touch with them pretty much through the phone, and the computer. Most of the people on my Dad's side have accounts on Facebook, so we stay in contact that way too.

Hi luckymy, it’s the same situation here during those early days when cellphone, computer and internet service were not available yet. I used to keep in touch with my loved ones and friends by writing letters. It’s really unbearable and anxious that sometimes we had to wait for several days to receive replied letter from them. Therefore I would like to make a call to them if needed. It’s very much expensive compared to that by writing letter. And at that time only land phone was available I did send telegram to my loved one before for emergency events a couple of times. We couldn’t deny that it was the fastest way to contact someone. And of course the charge was very much higher to send a telegram. It was charged by the total amount of words sending. Therefore it should be written briefly and precisely. Nowadays I like keeping in touch with my loved ones and friends via sending email and sms. Sometimes I make phone call as well. I haven’t sent any letter using paper, envelope as well as stamp for quite a long time. I am really happy with both emailing or chatting online as they are fast, easy, convenient and free of charge as well Moreover we can use them at anytime we wish Take care and happy posting.

Email or phone, depending on whether I have the friend's email or phone. I do not use online tools as it could at times be disrupting to whatever I am doing.

Like most people, I keep in touch with my friends through text messages, emails & phone calls. There's no one thing that I do more than others. Personally, I don't like text messaging but people I know do so I get a lot of messages from them. Some I respond & others I call. Sometimes when I'm at work, few of them emails me with what they wanna say & I usually end up calling them back after work. I do have blackberry so they so if they send me an email, it comes right to my phone. Not all of my friends have blackberry so instead of writting back an email, I wait till I get off work & call them.
