Hi dear friends,
I think, chirping of birds is common in villages and I heard the same in my childhood. There was no need of any alarm clock for waking us and Caw….Caw sound of a Crow normally wakes me up in the morning. But now I am living in a city and I hardly find any Crow here. In fact I never heard any chirping sound of a bird in the morning. If you ask then what I am listening, my answer will be ‘kabadi………’ By a Kabadiwala (Kabadi means junk, and the person who is colleting the used household objects is called Kabadiwala, They purchase the used items from households). Sometimes I wonder, these people doesn’t have sleep, roaming around early in the morning.. , yes there are lots of such people roaming in this place every day.
What about your place, are you lucky enough to listen the chirping of birds still in the morning?
Wishing you all a Wonderful Year.

I hear birds chirping as my father have pairs of lovebirds which he care and they are numbering now to more than 15 mates. Then, also hear the meowing of my female cats then some neighbors dogs. Even at night i could hear the chicken, crickets, frogs during rainy seasons, and my female cats being chase by the male cats they are so noisy when they run at the ceiling of my house with all those sounds they produce while mating they are quite disturbing but we are already at ease with those sounds. So far the noise which i do not like to hear are my neighbor noise when they do their karaoke singing everytime their are parties they could harm an eardrums because of their noise. Happy new year to you..

Hi neelia,
How are you dear, hope you are doing great, I am disturbed with your down ranking, hope you can make it in near future.
It is great to have love birds as pet. I guess there must be much noise by them. You are lucky to hear the chirping sounds. Thanks for sharing.
Happy New Year to you too. Have a great year.

No, I rarely hear chirping birds unfortunately. The sound that wakes me up is not a natural one; it's the incessant beeping of my alarm clock usually. Besides, I think in the winter - don't birds migrate or something? (LMAO this shows how much I know!)

Hello there Sreekala and Happy New Year !
Well it depends where i sleep :P
When i am at my home i may hear the rain, crickets or birds in the morning. I can also hear the cat of one of my neighbors as well as she is often left home alone and moans a lot.
When i wake up at my girlfriend place where she stays with her grandma, i can hear the traffic outside.
And last but not least when i wake up at her parents place i can hear birds / or her cats or even her dogs barking. Also you can hear even before the night ends the roosters their neighbors have.

Hi sreekala, this morning I got woken up by the sound of an olive picking machine, the sound carries quite a long way and everyone is rushing to finish off before the bad weather hits. In the summer it is much more likely to be the constant sound of the ciccados which wake me, sometimes it gets so loud it sounds like a burst pipe.

I hear the ringing of my cursed alarm clock and the rattling of BT trucks rolling past
My mornings are usually noisy affairs because of this, which I cannot stand because I prefer calm and quiet mornings. Buy hey, at least all this noise to wake me up means that I will never be late

What wakes me up in the morning lately is the shouting of my mom to wake up,lol. I go to bed now a days very late so, naturally I wake up too late to get the shouting of mom. But I am lucky enough to hear the chirping of birds too. Two months back a pair of bulbul started making a nest in the gap of the ventilator of my room. Last month I saw three small cute white eggs in the nest. I was looking forward for the young ones to hatch out then it would be very nice to hear the chirping of the little birdies all the time till they grow enough to fly away. One day I saw a crow surveying around the nest and the parent birds fluttering vigorously giving out alarming sounds trying to distract the crow from the nest. I smelt the danger and I had no other option but to shoot down the crow with my 303. Now I feel that I have some responsibility in taking care of the eggs till they are hatched and even after it until the baby birds grow up. I don't know the condition of the nest and its dwellers for the time being much to my chagrin.

I am very sorry to say that I returned to see the empty nest with no birds or eggs. I think the little ones might have been eaten up by crows or cats.In that frustration I shot down five crows last day.I hope the birds will come again and use their old nest once again.

Hi Cosmo,
Now three weeks over with your reply and I am curious to know about the status of eggs. Have the babies come out, are they safe? I am curious like a child. I know the crows are very cunning and dangerous too. But I am really appreciating their unity when a crow in danger they gather in one place .
Thanks for the interesting reply.
Have a nice time with the small birds. Enjoy.

Hi Sree, it’s sad that most of the people nowadays could hardly hear the lovely chirping of birds in the morning anymore. We know birds can’t live without trees. And what are available in the downtown area of big towns and large cities are occupied by all tall reinforced concrete buildings instead of greenish and leafy trees. Therefore no more chirping birds are visible. It sounds that you have been missing the cheerful morning chirping birds very much after shifting to the city. And I believe the lovely bird chirping sound you used to hear during your childhood has become beautiful memories in your mind forever. But doesn't matter you still can hear them when spending holidays in your hometown
it seems that it’s a beautiful coincident! We have similar thinking in certain aspects I suppose. You will understand what I mean here if you refer to

The very first sound I hear once I wake up in the morning is the faint snore from my husband. I can hear the melodious songs from the birds outside the windows at the same time Different birds like to visit our place for we have a couple of rambutan trees, as well as star fruit trees and a grapefruit tree too in the courtyard around. My neighbors live next to the left of our house raise some chickens, therefore crows can be heard on and off in the morning as well. Sometimes worship chanting is heard vaguely from a distant mosque.
Take care and happy posting

Hi dear,
The question was in mind for quite long time and I have been hearing the rough voice of the person in every morning. I think about my child hood and remember how I used to wake up in the morning. So start this discussion and after checking the link you provided, it is really a surprise for me, how identically we think and created the discussion.
My house is surrounded with rubber trees and there are plenty of different birds, small animals like squirrel, rabbit, snake, frog etc. I have been missing all these after shifting to the city. Yes I can enjoy these once in a year on my vacation.
Take care and have a great weekend.

Hi dear!
Our neighbors have a set of parrots, they keep it in cage. As soon as it is morning, they keep shouting at the top of their voices and keep disturbing. They keep burping some sounds throughout the day, they only remain silent, when it is complete dark and they are put inside a dark room (at night). I hear the voice of car or scooter passing out early in the morning, as one of my neighbors goes to temple early in the morning, every day, and he would either go by his old rotten scooter and second hand car.

hello sreekala!
when i was younger and still living in the province, i was able to hear those birds chirping in the morning as well as some dogs barking! but there are also days that the voice of my mom or my neighbors wake me up! specially every monday morning when they are preparing their children for school!
when my husband & i lives in the province almost 2 years ago, i was able to hear the sound of the sea in the morning specially if its windy!
but now, i am living in the city...what i hear in the morning are the vehicles going here & there passing! we are not that near in the road but the sounds of the vehicles are still loudly heard in our house! and also, there are times that its the ticking of typewriter that wakes me up in the morning! hehe coz our room is just a thin wall away from the office of my husband & when secretary is already there...she starts typing & i feel like that's what she's doing everyday! haha by the way, sometimes i am still sleeping even if its already 8 or 9 in the morning!:-)

Thanks for sharing about the good memories in childhood.
Have a great weekend.

I've recently moved to a less countryfied area too. There I sometimes used to curse the birds that were determined to keep me awake from four in the morning. Now I do miss them, but when we open the french doors downstairs, that lead onto our back yard, we are blessed with lots of birds visiting the mature garden next door where our neighbours hang food for them. We love to watch them while we have our breakfast, and sometimes they sing for us.

Hi jakill,
Earlier you were cursing the birds now missing them, yes it is our nature (human beings) dear. I guess there must be lot of trees around your house. For me, my house is surrounded with other buildings there is not a single tree then how can I hear the bird's sound.
Thank you very much for joining
Have a wonderful day.

Hi Sreekala
Fortunately, even though I live in town, my apartment complex has a nice yard and many trees, so I do get to wake up to birds chirping, even in the winter time. Other times, I hear traffic sounds or this time of year, the snow plows. Perhaps a neighbor chatting to their family, but they are not annoying sounds. :) It just says the new day is beginning.

My garden is so designed that several birds visit it every single day. The trees next to my bedroom are fruit trees specially the Noni tree which attract cuckoo birds sometimes 7 or 8 of them and their chirping throughout the day is music to the ears. I also have several other specieis who come to bathe in the birdbath specially isntalled for them besides fruit trees that are scatterede all over my garden.

Hi, Ofcourse everyone would like to listen to pleasantness of nature. The birds waking up and the rising of the sun .The rays of sunlight which wake us with a gentle breeze. But in cities its very rare to get such things around us.Lots of pollution lots of noises .The traffic is huge and no one can stop it.May be if every individual thinks about this we cant get the chirping of birds or the silent mornings.

I hear the cry of the rooster every morning aside, aside from that, I seldom hear the chirping of birds. Here in the city you seldom hear it as early in the morning the sound of the engines of cars and some people selling are the ones you can hear. Even a loud radio playing at the early morning. Everyone is busy and you have no time to stop to wait and hear if there is chirping bird around. Everyone is always in the rush. I believe I can hear it when I go to far away place from the city, where there are many trees and you are one with nature. I want that kind of environment. Hopefully when I retire I will be able to hear it.

Hi grecy,
You can hear the rooster's sound atleast. You are right, here people are busy in the morning and even if the bird chirps nobody listen the same. But in my place buildings are around instead of trees and if there are no trees then birds won't be there. Pigeons are making their nest in the roof of buildings. Hopefully on retirement we can settle in a village and enjoy the nature’s sound.
Thanks for the participation.
Have a nice day.

I do sometimes hear the crow on my window in the mornings. I have some pigeons too around. Other than this my area is completely silent. Not even the noise of the kabadiwala to hear in the morning. So sometime if I forget to put on the alarm and the curtains are closed I am not even aware of the time because the whole place is silent till almost mid day.
