If your parents live far away from you, how often do you call them?

I work in the city far away from my hometown, so I usually give my parents a call once a week to tell them what happens here and asks their status. Sometimes it is just a greeting. What about you? Do you call your parents frequently?

i moved from new york to springfield ma last year. in the begining i spoke to my mom everyday and the same with my kids. now 1 year later we speak about 2 to 3 times a week and if for some reason or the other i forget to call or its been 1 week she will call me and say hey what happened you didnt call me. its difficult being away from home but we make the best of it. and my kids already know her number by heart they just pick up the pone and call her themselves.

My mother lives an ocean away from me. And the sad part is that all her grandchildren are here (my sister lives here too with her kids). so she misses them like crazy. I don't call my mom most of the time because I don't really have long distance, so she calls me once a week to see how I'm doing. the call normally lasts from 15min - 1hr depending on with both of us are doing at the time. sometimes my kids are being demanding and i have to go. it's always good to keep in touch because i know she's over there worrying about me and her grandbabies.

My sisters and brothers are working in different cities and we can only go home during long holidays. So we try our best to call them as often as possible to make them not feel lonly. I know people will much more miss their children with the age increases.

hello luckymy2008
right now, i am living far away from my parents, i am living with my husband in a far province from my hometown due to my husband's work assignment.
i always see to it, that i am communicating with my parents every now & then, whether through text or call...that way, i don't feel the distance between us, its just like we are just near to each other talking, greeting and laughing...
but there are some busy days that i was not able to communicate with them or them to me, but we understand it and just make up the next time we talk...we are already used to this situation and you know, whenever i come home, we feels like we don't really become far to each other in the past months...
