This new year many of you would have made some resolutions to improve your thoughts or habits. Do you reveal your new year resolution? This may help other myLot members to know more about you and they may even adopt your resolution. Who knows?... I made two resolutions for this year and they are i) Not to accuse others for my own personal debacles. ii)Change my food habits and eat healthy foods to become fitter and healthier. Happy MyLotting! Have a nice day!!!

I always make resolutions and as the previous poster said, I usually don't stick to them. This year, I'm giving it one last ditch effort. I spent the month of December thinking about what I really wanted to accomplish. I wrote a mission statement of sorts that included why I really wanted to achieve the objective. I brainstormed what I would have to do to accomplish it as well as what obstacles I might encounter and how I would deal with them. That being done, I created short term and long term goals for each resolution that includes a reward syste. All of this being said, my three resolutions are: 1. To lose 30 lbs by making small permanent lifestyle changes 2. To sell or lease my house and to move to Washington state. 3. To write a mystery novel to be completed by 7/1. I thnk that your resolutions are quite admirable. Best of luck to you

Thank you for responding. You have got amazing resolutions for this year. I wish you best of luck in your endeavor. No need to panic or despair if you do not keep your new year resolution after one year.since it is not meant for a year but it is small step taken to make your life more meaningful and joyful. It should be continued year after year. Not the question of just review it after one year and dump it. If you cannot keep your resolution for a year then keep trying it for another year without making new resolutions until you keep following your resolution.

I don't always follow my new year's resolutions. I don't even regularly make them, but, just for the heck of it, this year it would be to spend better quality time with my family, particularly my daughter and husband. Since we're moving to another country pretty soon, I also really need to learn to cook good food for my honey and my baby. I believe that good health is wealth so I really have to get started with my kitchen expertise. And lastly, I will find ways to make things better, make my family feel better, and know that God's plans are always better than ours.

I quit making resolutions a long time ago, seems I always ended up disappointed the next year because I remembered all the ones that I made and didn't keep. I just try to do my best every day and keep all of my life goals in mind all throughout the year. I make sure that I keep my family and friends close and let them know I love and care about them and do what I can to make my life and theirs better. Just making goals throughout the year and achieving them in little baby steps is the way I do it.

Thanks for the response. The whole idea of this discussion is about how you keep your resolutions thorought the year and get habituated to new good things in life to make life happy and less complicated. In your case though you quit making new year resolutions you are resolved to keep goals on day to day basis which is a nice way to respond to this discussion.

I think this whole concept of making resolutions is a waste. We make resolutions, then it goes good for few days, sometimes for weeks, may be for a month. THAT'S ALL.... Most of us do like this only. I think 70 percent of us do it like this only. Persons who stay rigid on their resolutions brings happiness to them.Make it bit by bit.Learn from every mistake and keep trying to succeed, one will surely succeed. Do you agree guys???

This year I won't be making any New Year resolutions at all. I used to do resolutions every year but most of the time I always fails to attain it. Resolutions like working hard on career or academics or quitting smoking are really helpful one but they are certainly very tough to attain. I never stuck to them.In fact I forget about the resolution after someday. So its better if I didn't make any this year....
