David is starring in a new pilot on the United States... many of us dont know him, only a few Dr. Who fans un the United States from old Public Broadcasting TV. We get many of your shows on those stations...
So my question? Do you think that he made a good decision in leaving Dr. Who? How do you think that he will do in a new pilot?
Will he use an American accent or his native Scottish one..? Would you watch?

David Tennant wasn't the best Doctor by a long stretch, though I thought he was OK. For me, he was hampered to a certain extent by the decision to have him speak with a southern accent instead of his native Scottish one (it made him come across to me as a bit spivvy). I didn't know he was going to be doing some work in America now, hopefully he'll be able to use his own accent. What's this pilot he's going to be making?

Ok... spivvy? I think that may be a british term.. Are you saying like, "uppity"? Anyway the pilot is called "Rex is not your lawyer." It will be on NBC here in the states. I just really like DT and want him to get the attention that he deserves post Dr. Who.

Sorry, I should be more careful with using slang. "Spivvy" means "like a spiv", spiv being an old slang word for a black marketeer - the type you'd encounter down the market selling dodgy products of doubtful provenance, or the type of guy who would have sold you forged ration tickets or poached meat during World War Two. I think it's the combination of the southern accent and the suit that does it for me - if you've ever seen "Dad's Army", he reminds me of Joe Walker.
I do like David Tennant generally though. I saw him in "Casanova" not long before he started doing Dr Who, and that made me think he'd be a good Doctor. He also played the flight surgeon in a live remake of "The Quatermass Experiment" (thankfully with his Scottish accent), and he was good in that too.

I think Doctor Who is pretty well known is the US now. At least bigger then it ever has been before. Tennant was also in a Harry Potter film, so some people will know him from that as well. While I would of liked to see him stick around and work with the new show runner, the Doctor isn't meant to be the same actor for a super long time. So I think the switch is just fine. Really if he does not succeed in the Hollywood, he can always return to the UK. He is a huge star (deservingly so) thanks to Doctor Who. I will give the new show a shot, though really the premise of the show isn't that encouraging, but I do enjoy Tennant so it will get a few episodes. I would prefer the Scottish accent, just like I would prefer House to be a brit instead so he can use his natural accent, but that's just me.

he's also a very talented actor (& I'm not just saying that because I like his Doctor) with a critical reputation for his work before/outside Doctor Who.
See his work in Casanova, Einstein and Eddington and the filmed version of his Hamlet, for example. I hope he manages to get the right parts for him and is an success - he deserves it.

Dr. Who comes on lots of stations in the US including BBC America (they just had a marathon January 1-2 with just about every episode from the last 3 seasons airing). It used to come on the SyFy channel, too, and comes on our PBS station. I only started watching it last fall. Not sure what I think of him leaving. I haven't been watching long but I loved him as the doctor.

Does anyone know if this is true?

Well, he can't stay as Doctor Who forever after all. He had been the Doctor for 3 series/ around 4 years witht eh break. But he needed a fresh start after al, and jsut hope now, he makes it big in the US, with the star power he has gained from Doctor Who.

I'd still watch it since he is a hot guy. For now I'm still mourning the fact he has left Dr. Who :(
