Thanks to the develepment of transportation,we can enjoy many foods from distant place, which can't be produced or processed locally. But sometimes we take too many and live off the distant food too much. And the transportation of the imported foods adds to the global pollution problem.Do you prefer the foods from distant place?
What do you think of this?

Thank you for sharing your opinion. We should feed on our local foods. But as you can see from the former responses, there are some places on the earth where plants can't grow in certain seasons. So we should forgive them, though some pollution is caused by the transportation.

Last winter, I checked what I would have to eat if I wanted to live of local produce. I found out I could eat as much meat as I wanted to, also fish, egg and milk. Vegetables and fruits would be a problem though. In the winter, there's mainly potatoes, cabbage, carrots and onions, and after a week or two that would get a big boring. But I try to buy food from Norway most of the year, I usually check where it's from and then go for the nearest country if the food is imported. Some fruits and spices have to be imported of course, it's pretty cold here and not everything can be harvested.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. We also have a cold winter here,in which we can't grow any vegetables out of the greenhouse. For this reason, importing foods from distant place is necessary. But we shouldn't depend too much on the importing,I think.

I personally much prefer foods from England. The reason behind this is because it doesnt have to be transported therefore is much fresher. My eggs are all free-range from my nan and grandad they bring them down to me when I want them. I buy as much locally as I can!

Sometimes I do prefer food from a distant place. It made me know their specialties of different kind of foods and cuisine. It widens my horizons in food taste comparison. It is also an additional experience for me but I do not like exotic foods that are derived from new discoveries from different animals.

I totally agree with you.I get used to my local foods a lot. When I try some imported foods,it's hard for me to swallow them unless they're cooked in my local way
