Has anyone on here ever had any real life changing experiences? I can say that my life was changed when my mother passed away at such an early age.

My accident made me realise how little family members can do and be there when you need them. And the way I recovered from this ghastly accident brought me closer to God and felt his presence every moment when I most needed it.

Hi, Melissa: I think it's fair to say that each of us has many life changing experiences throughout our lifetime. Graduating from school, going off to college, getting that first job, getting married, having children, losing a loved one, coming down with a life-threatening illness, moving to another city, gaining and losing large sums of money through the lotto, inheritance or financial ruin, being accused of a crime, getting divorced, discovering a spouse is having an arrair, to name a few. Some of these experiences we simply take in stride and chalk it up to life in general, but we are truly affected and our paths are redirected from that point on. Even if nothing physical changes, our life changes because the way we view the world has changed.
I lost my mother a few years ago. I was fortunate in that I had her with me well into my adult years. I was still devastated. I can only imagine what it must have been like for you to lose your mother at an early age.
I saw my grandson's world go upside down at age 3. His mother abandoned him and his father. I saw a baby mourn the loss of his mother and I saw him grow wise beyond his years as he came to grips with that realization. Even tho she came back into his life after a year, the damage was done. This is a bell that cannot be un-rung.
