The Winter Olympics are coming to Canada in a little bit over a month. Since October the Olympic torch has been running a relay all across Canada originating in Greece then from British Columbia, to Nunavit, to Newfoundland, and back again. I didn't think much of it until I watched on TV when the torch arrived in Toronto. I became very emotional and wished I had filled out that application in the newspaper to become a torch bearer. That's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity... or maybe it will happen again. The torch came to my town last week. You can check out a couple of my photos here http://sportales.com/sports/2010-winter-olympics-torch-relay/ Right now we are all watching the World Junior Hockey Championships because Canada almost always wins. Can't wait until the game coming on an hour from now. So hockey is also a great Winter Olympic sport for Canada. I like watching that and figure skating. But I will watch most of the other sports as well. I get emotional when watching Canada win medals and they play the National Anthem. Yeah, I get emotional a lot! So, who is looking forward to the Winter Olympics next month? Will you be watching? What is your favourite Winter Olympic sport?

When I was younger I used to watch track and field and therefore follow the summer olympics. I used to like to watch the milers rn and try to break world records. The don't seem to show as much track and field on TV anymore so it's hard to get into the summer olympics. I lost more interest when they started letting professionals compete, especially in basketball. Today, I'm more interested in the Winter olympics. I like the skiing, speed skating, and bobsledding.

They have professionals on the hockey teams. I think when the Olympics comes on there really isn't anything else to watch. LOl!

True there's not much else on. Being from the US, I loved when the US hockey team won at Lake Placid. I don't like professionals on basketball so much. I think we (the US) helped push that through because our college players started losing in the olympics. I don't really feel that the way things should be. As for other summer sports, there's enough professional golf and tennis, now they want to give them medals? Except for hockey, a lot of the winter sports don't get much coverage except during the olympics.

I will be watching. Not because I'm terribly interested in winter sports, but because you can't turn on the TV here in Norway during the Winter Olympics without seeing some sort of winter sports. I usually watch the figure skating and ice dance, and then I see the sports with someone from Norway in them. I've never seen the whole 50 km cross country or 10 000 meter skating, it is bit too monothone. And I don't watch the bob and the curling, I just don't get it :-)

Here you pretty much can't watch anything BUT the Olympics because everything else is in reruns during the Olympics. I pretty much only watch the events when Canadians are competing... except for figure skating. You kind of have to watch all competitors when watching figure skating.

Oh yes, the reruns of sweaty men falling over the finishing line. Reruns in all TV channels actually, and online, in the news papers and in the radio. That part I'm not looking so much forward to.

My husband and I are not interested in a bunch of sports, but we do enjoy figure skating, speed skating, gymnastic, stuff like that.

I didn't get to watch it. I actually haven't watched it in years. But when I did my favorite to watch had to be figure skating. My favorite skater has got to be Scott Hamilton. Even though he doesn't skate competitively anymore he's still the best that there is. Happy mylotting!
